These are lustrous 6mm mother of pearl flat beads with a drilled large center hole. They date back to the 1960’s and are from vintage Japanese stock. The center hole is not always perfectly centered which makes me think they were drilled by hand, making them even more charming. These have often been used for eyes in my altered art dolls. I have also used them as spacers for drawer knobs and even polka dots for a painted box. They are a beautiful and versatile embellishment to have in quantity.
