A Weekend in the Wilderness: UK Festival Photo Diary

If you didn’t make it to Wilderness festival, don’t worry. We’ve got you covered.

The Magic is everywhere.

Set on a country estate, across rolling fields in the stunning Oxfordshire countryside, this past weekend I entered ‘the Wilderness’. I had heard great things about this festival, which is now in its fifth year, and it certainly didn’t disappoint. We have had a few weeks of bad weather here in the UK, but luckily on Friday morning the clouds parted and the sun shone down on us throughout the whole weekend!

It was definitely the most beautiful festival I have been too, and although there is so much to do activity wise, it still has a small boutique feel – almost like a large scale village fete! With sunrise yoga, wild swimming in the lakes, a game of cricket, inspirational talks, Bloody Mary cocktail making and natural remedy forest walks; we had a full agenda before we even got to the music. Headline acts included Bjork on Friday, funk legend George Clinton on Saturday and Ben Howard on the Sunday. Other music highlights included Norwegian singer Aurora on the bandstand stage, especially her cover of ‘The Lion Sleeps Tonight’ which got the whole crowd on their feet. And my favorite from the weekend, Fag Junky, who totally rocked the Wilderness Stage with their infectious energy, eye popping costumes and eclectic range of covers. When the live music finished, everyone headed down to The Hidden Valley for the DJ headliners, and to continue dancing underneath sky bound shows of acrobats and trapeze artists.

The food was just as much the star of the show as the music. With so much to choose from, including long table banquets by top chefs Raymond Blanc and Angela Hartnett, and feast tents by Hix, Morro and Petersham Nurseries, as well as an amazing selection of food trucks, it was hard to stick to just 3 meals a day!
I highly recommend attending this UK festival if you have the chance! For more info check out their website and follow them on instagram
