This is another lovely unusual antique picot edge ombre bow from the early 1900s – being offered by the backyard – I am thinking 1920s however might be older. This type bow was preferred for making the leaves in ribbonwork jobs and other accents. You can make several excludes of a backyard of bow. For each leave on the peices in the picture I utilized between 2 and 3 inches. Bow is a gorgeous old green with chartreuse and darker olive striping. Ribbon measures roughly 1/2 & quot; & quot; to external edge of picots.
It remains in gorgeous unused shape off the original card with moderate age related possible fading and patina – some mild areas of producer flaw and/ or pin holes that can be easily worked around when making leaves. I believe the bow to be mostly SILK with possible cotton/ rayon blend – really soft in hand and pliable with a gorgeous sheen and quality only found in treasures like this from yesteryear. Due to its age there may be small age finding, but I relax a reasonable amount which was extremely really minimal.
