This antique pin/ brooch is built of small tiny glass beads, I believe size 14 or even smaller, beaded on fabric with a leather back. A brass safety pin is connected to the back.
It determines 2 & quot; & quot; broad and 1 3/4 & quot; tall.
The Ojibwe are understood for their floral concept in beading. The flowers can differ greatly in shape and color and a big piece will have fantastic leaves and vines.
I can not say that I have seen another brooch/ pin like this. It might have been a gift as it is definitely well made. An individual would not have actually used these beads lightly. The beads are SO tiny that this piece spent some time.
The leather is papering.
I got this brooch over Twenty Years ago at an estate sale and have no history to choose it. It has been in my personal collection, and I have actually decided it is time to share. As I have no family ties to it, and I have actually not discovered the best home for it, I have to let it go. I feel it is great karma to send things back into the world after you have enjoyed them.
