  • “These were very good! The banana taste really comes through! Easy, quick and the texture is cakey-like!!I’ll make these again–the kids loved ’em!”

  • “These were pretty good. I thought the texture was a little weird–spongy–but I LOVED THE FROSTING!!!”

  • “These were excellent cookies–despite the two mistakes I made!>br/br/br/br/br/br/br/

  • “These are very very good!! Taste just like banana bread! However, they did not turn out like I expected. I thought they would be like an oatmeal cookie in texture with banana flavor. These are more cake-like or like eating a muffin top. I didn’t make the frosting because the cookie is pretty sweet as is. I thought about making a cream cheese glaze and drizzling that over the top. These are a great alternative to the ordinary banana muffin or bread. Great recipe will be making again!!”

  • “Very good cookies…had left over bananas and didn’t feel like making banana bread or cake. Added milk and white chips to half the batch and made the rest according to the recipe.Very good cookies. The oatmeal adds a nice texture to the cookie.”

  • “These were really good! I made them for grandparents who are watching their sugar intake so i used splenda 1/2 a cup of brown sugar. I also used becel butter instead of crisco. Really good!!”

  • “Just what I was looking for!!Thanks for posting Christine.Happy New Year!!”

  • “I rather disliked the texture of these cookies. I did half a batch exactly according to the recipe and another batch replacing the Crisco with vanilla flavored yogurt. I liked the taste of the cookies with the yogurt better, but the consistencies of both cookies was “spongey” like another reviewer commented, and rather dense. I was excited to use my riped bananas for the recipe, but I do not think I will be making this again, sorry.”

  • “We liked these cookies…the consensus around here was that they tasted just like banana bread.I didn’t make the frosting, but I doubled the recipe and added a 12 oz bag of mini chocolate chips.Otherwise I followed the recipe exactly for the cookies.”

  • “yum.I substituted 1/2 c of fat-free cottage cheese and 1/4 c of canola oil for the crisco.I zoomed it in the blender with the banana and the sugar to get it smooth. Since it was pretty liquidy (surprise, surprise) I added an additional 1/2 c of oats to make it cookie consistency. It was great.”

  • “Came out very good.I used half butter and half margarine all whole wheat flour and no frosting.I split the dough in three and added chocolate chips to one portion and peanut butter chips to another and sprinkled sugar on the last (should have used coconut but I didn’t think of it until it was to late). This would make a great camping breakfast.”

  • “I really liked these- I took another users advise and used 1/2 a cup yogurt- and 1/4 cup butter instead of the shortening- I also added pecans instead of walnuts- and I’m SO happy I did- they really add a lot of flavor.”

  • “These cookies were horrible. My daughter stopped by and I tried to get her to eat one; but after one taste she gave it back to me.”

  • “I was looking for a new recipe for my over-ripe bananas.WOW!!!I love these cookies.I left out the walnuts because we didn’t have any. Also, instead of frosting the cookies I “glazed” them by dipping each ball of dough into water and then sugar before baking. Thanks Christine!”

  • “These cookies were very very good!We loved them.I did not have any butter flavor crisco, so I used regular and added a 1/2 tsp of vanilla.I also omitted the nutmeg and walnuts due to personal preference.Pleasantly different.Tastes like banana bread, but in a cookie!I was hesitant about putting the frosting on b/c I thought it was a little too lemony, but once I tried the frosting on the cookie, I made sure to frost them all.Really brings out the flavors in the cookie.Thank you for the recipe Christine!”

  • “My 4 yo daughter and I just made these. We love to make cookies together, especially this time of year. They are wonderful. The last batch is cooling right now. They are very addictive too.We did use Fleichman’s stick margarine and they turned out fine.Did not get 5 dozen though.Had 3 cookies short of 4 dozen. They will be made again.Next time I might make them as bars. And might put some peanut butter chips in.Thanks for the great recipe!!”

  • “These were good. I didn’t use Crisco because of the hydrogenated oils, I used Smart Balance in the cookie and fat free cream cheese in the frosting. I also used whole wheat flour. I loved how the cookies were soft and chewy. Thanks!”

  • “I left out the nuts and added chocolate chips.Delicious!”

  • “These cookies are a great way to use up some bananas! I made theses exactly as the recipe said except I left out the nuts and absoultely loved them. The frosting really makes them more of a dessert cookie than just a banana bread cookie. I also put mine in the freezer and LOVE it! They are still soft when you take them out of the freezer. Great on a hot summer day.”
