  • Reviews

  • “Good stuff!!But I added a scant tsp of ground summer savory and 2-3 Tsp chopped onions to the pan 2-3 minutes before adding the flour to the pan. Also, I taste the gravy and if it lacks flavor, I add a cube of chicken or beef boullion.Really love GOOD gravy.Warren Holmgreen”

  • “Wow!! I have tried to make white gravy a few times, but could never get it right. Now, I finally did!! Thankyou so much! :-)”

  • “Wow, such a Great and Easy recipe. Thanks for sharing. I also added pepper The family loves it.”

  • “This is great gravey. The only thing I did different was added alot of pepper, my husband loves pepper.”

  • “I had never made biscuits and gravy so I used this recipe to try it out. It worked perfectly. I used cornstarch and I didn’t have any excess grease to pour off andI also left the sausage in it as I added the ingredients. Worked for me. No fail recipe. Thanks for sharing Toncats2!”

  • “Made this for a covered-dish party at work and the doubled recipe was gone in less than three hours.I added some salt, pepper, and a little onion salt, but the recipe was super easy and got rave reviews from my co-workers.Now they won’t stop asking me to bring it for every party we have!”

  • “Absolutely wonderful.I do spice things up by adding black pepper and just a bit of salt. The gravy comes together easily.I agree with the other reviewer…take the sausage out before doing your cornstarch & milk. The recipe doesn’t state that and I messed up the first time I made it.Even still, it turned out great.:)”

  • “This came out great! My hubby did add some diced onions and we we very happy with the result. Beginning gravy makers note: the directions do not specify to remove the sausage before adding the flour/cornstarch etc, but does refer to returning it to the pan. So, remove the sausage at the beginning of step 3.”

  • “I used flour instead of corn starch. Salt and pepper to taste ,medium spicy sausage and it was yummy! I would half the sausage and make a bigger batch of gravy next time. This fed only two big eaters and one little eater. lol”

  • “Simple and delicious. Salt and pepper to taste. Next time I’ll half the sausage.”

  • “Mine looked delicious after it was finished, but the gravy was bland.I added salt, pepper and worstershire, but I was still unable to get the flavor I wanted.I think I will try again and add beef or chicken bullion.”

  • “This turned out very good. My only variation is that i add a little water when browning the sausage. This adds to the grease available at the end. Thanks for the recipe.”

  • “VERY easy recipe, and tastes great! Thanks for posting this.”

  • “Real easy to make and turned out real good but didn’t really need to drain the grease out of the sausage there was barely any in the sausage I used but there was enough I did drain it and add it like was said but next time I will just leave the grease in it unless the sausage has more grease in it”

  • “My husband LOVES LOVES LOVVVVEESS biscuits and gravy. I never thought that I could make gravy until I tried this recipe this morning. He ate a ton of it!! I am so glad to have this recipe in my regular rotation. Your measurements are spot on.”

  • “My husband’s most requested breakfast – sausage & gravy.Go figure ;-)I’ve made gravy for 30 years but never paid much attention to measurements – just mixed till it looked right.I DID pay attention this time & your measurements are right on.As Twissis mentioned, we had the sausage on the side but what she failed to reveal is that we used leftover Easy Dinner Rolls instead of biscuits.Talk about some decadent sopping! Highly recommend this recipe to anyone who thinks they can’t make gravy!”

  • “A good no-fail recipe for a classic & favorite breakfast that I requested as part of our visit here in Dallas w/SusieQusie. We ate the sausage as patties along side the biscuits & ladled gravy over both. All I did was add some salt to the biscuit & gravy part. Yum! Thx for sharing this recipe w/us.”

  • “Oh! This is such a wonderful recipe. I’ve never made my own biscuits and sausage gravy before, I just always had my grandmothers or settled for some restaurants poor imitation. I’m sooo keeping this recipe in my cookbook FOREVER! So tasty and comforting. Thanks for sharing you’re wonderfully delicious and simple recipe with us, Tonkcats2
