  • “This is so yummy.I substitute dried cranberries for the raisins. It is crunchy and delicious.”

  • “This is one of my most favorite recipes. But because the sunflower nuts are so small and tend to stick to the sides of the bowl, I usually substitute sliced almonds or pine nuts instead. The combination of flavors in this salad and dressing are delicious.”

  • “Excellent Salad!!!!!! Easy and a party pleaser. I took this to a family gathering, and everyone said that from now on this is the dish I always have to bring. I used regular mayonaise. Love the crunch andtaste of the sunflowers with the boccoli and bacon. Flavors blended perfectly.”

  • “Made this for 4th of July.Excellent and not a bit left after the party. We don’t have miracle whip in Sweden so I used mayonnaise and added a little extra sugar since miracle whip is sweeter than mayo.I used almonds instead of sunflower seeds and white wine vinegar as I couldn’t find regular vinegar. Thanks!”

  • “This was super yummy! I added halved grape tomatoes, and left out the bacon. What a treat! Thanks!”

  • “A perfect recipe. Not too saucy and all the flavors are a crowd pleaser for sure.”

  • “This is my go to broccoli salad.Perfect.”

  • “A recipe with this many reviews just has to be good and I wasn’t disappointed. We don’t get Miracle Whip in NZ so I used Light Mayo instead.Left out the bacon as I was wanting a vegetarian salad.Great taste, easy to prepare and one I will certainly be making again.”

  • “We really enjoyed this salad, but needed to make a few modifications: only 1/2 cup raisins and sunflower seeds, and half of a large red onion. For the dressing, only 2/3 c. mayo instead of Mircale Whip (too sweet for our tastes), plus 1 tbsp. sugar, and 2 tbsp. red wine vinegar. This will definitely be re-made!”

  • “Wonderful.I love this salad.Made it for my DH and he loves it.Thanks for the recipe.”

  • “YUM!I made this yesterday for a BBQ at the neighbors and it was received well.I lowered the calories and fat by eliminating the sunflower seeds, using Stevia in place of the sugar and swapped out the bacon for some shredded carrots and red bell pepper.Since I didn’t have the flavor from the bacon, I added a little lemon pepper and some all purpose seasoning.Excellent stuff!!!Next time I will decrease the onion quite a bit, as I felt it was a bit overpowering.I also think some apple might do well in here.Just some thoughts!~”

  • “Very good– I used about 1/3 of a purple onion and everything else as written. There were several men who looked at it and said “bacon salad- I love this stuff!” So it might need a new name.”

  • “This is such a surprisingly tasty combination!I used reduced fat mayo and Truvia sweetener, so it was even healthier!A great way to get more raw veggies in.I think the bacon did nothing more for this than to increase the fat content, so I’ll leave it out next time.My sister can’t eat gluten, so this was a great alternative for her to those old standby pasta salads at BBQs.Great recipe!”

  • “Amazing!!! We’ve always made this for christmas since I was little so it was nice to see it was finally posted. My picky (allergic to nuts) husband loved it so much he just picked around the sunflower seeds, which was ALOT of work! Five stars, and I have no idea why it’s not the #1 broccoli salad recipe.”

  • “Was a hit at a 4th of July get together. Used mayo, splenda blend instead of straight sugar and cider vinegar.Very similar to the broccoli salad at Soup Plantation.Loved it!!Will definitely be making this again.”

  • “Excellent.I had to leave out the raisins because of my kids and I used Duke’s mayonnaise. Thanks for sharing.”

  • “plunge the raisins into hot water1st”

  • “Very good, I took this to a potluck lastnight and it was a big hit. This has the perfect amount of dressing, not too much, just enough to cover the veggies. Perfect.Thank you for posting.”
