  • Reviews

  • “Good as written, I will make some adjustments next time for my personal taste.More garlic and maybe red potatoes instead.”

  • “Great tasting healthy soup! We added some ground venison sausage after pureeing and it gave it a whole different flavor, equally delicious! Thanks for the recipe!!!”

  • “Yummy! I added extra garlic 🙂 1 t. salt and approximately 1/4 t. pepper. Also added 1/4 cup pearl pot barley and two sprigs of coriander.Next time I won’t add the coriander though.”

  • “Excellent!!!!! Really good one soup. Taste so good. I omitted the bay leaves too but put more black pepper just because the family likes it. Great. Had made twice in the past week. Thanx for the recipe.”

  • “Great!Family loved it.I added 10 oz. soft tofu to add some protein.Great “secret ingredient” for kids.”

  • “Loved it as is and also played around with it a bit. I also tried it with herbes de provance which I prefer to Italian seasoning. I also increased garlic as I love it. I have also tried it with NO sautee and just everything thrown in the pan (reduce calories a bit). I have also tried it with a dollup of plain yoghurt and low fat sour cream to cream it up a bit. I prefer the yoghurt. Just a super and adaptable recipe :-)”

  • “This soup reminded me of Thanksgiving dinner wrapped up in a soup (the carrots, the herbs, the potatoes…)! Delicious! Thanks!”

  • “This soup was absolutely delicious! I had homemade chicken broth in the fridge to use up, and it turned out very tasty. Very filling, but very light on the fat/calorie side. Excellent and thank you! Oh, and using a hand-blender to purée soup made the job at the end easier.”

  • “Just a few alterations resulted in a great soup. Having no Italian seasoning I substituted 1/2 tsp. of crushed Oregano, and a couple of shakes of Italian dressing. For the chicken broth I used Bisto savoury gravy for poultry. I also added about 6 tsp. of 1/2 and 1/2 cream,The result was a wonderful smooth and great tasting soup. A distinct taste to be recommended.Bangers n’Mash”

  • “I thought this soup was easy and tasty.I altered the receipe by cooking the veggies first, then mashing some of them for thickness. It was delicious! Thank you for your receipe!”

  • “Very tasty and nutritious!I used more than double the garlic stated in the recipe, and I think I will use even more next time I make this soup.”

  • “Easy soup.Good way to get more carrots into your diet.Filling and healthy. My suggestion to make this recipe easier: Boil diced carrots and potatoes in small amount of water until tender, mash (e.g. w/ potato masher), and then add the chicken broth to your desired soup consistency.Alternative to pureeing in a blender.”

  • “I wanted to love this.I really did.I sat at the table and tried to justify the taste as subtle, or delicate… instead, it looked and tasted a bit like baby food.I followed the recipe and added 1/2 teaspoon of coriander, as suggested. It was edible. It was okay.It wasn’t great.I will, although, try this once I have my second child (minus spices and sodiumed broth).”

  • “This soup is the best soup ever!!! Loved it!Had to make a couple of changes: used beef stock (from stock cubes, didn’t have chicken), slightly more potatoes, 1 teaspoon of herbes de provence (didn’t have italian seasoning) and no bay leaf. Turned out great. 1st choice for comfort food now :)”

  • “Terrific soup!I followed the directions exactly, until the end when I became afraid that I wouldn’t have enough, so I added some 2% milk (About 1 1/2 C) after pureeing…it tasted great! Oh, I used the coriander suggestion too.Anyway, I will definitely make this again.Oh, and it all disappeared at the dinner table! Thanks for the recipe!”

  • “I thought this was a delicious soup.I followed the recipe and added Coriander as suggested.I will make this again – thank you!”
