Although I pour many of my pieces, I bought this excellent mug in bisque * and then handpainted my design on it before firing it in the kiln at nearly 2000 degrees. After it cooled (typically about 24 Hr), I glazed it with a clear lead-free glaze and refired it in the kiln.
