“Don’t serve this with dinner because you won’t want to eat anything else except more bread. It’s like eating garlic bread topped with a melted creamy, cheese and onion dip. Sensational, the topping gets all brown and bubbly and the bread – brown and crunchy.I used some leftover sour cream instead of the half and half and baked it because my broiler is worthless. Denise H I love this recipe.”
“This bread was delicious!I served it with baked Italian chicken, green beans and a package of chicken flavored noodles.I used a little milk instead of the half-and-half because I didn’t have any on hand.I use 3 cloves of garlic and 1 T. dried parsley instead of fresh, but it was still delicious!Fresh basil might have been a nice addition, I will try it next time, but it was delicious as is!It was quick and easy to prepare.I put it under the broiler for about 5 minutes and watched it closely. When the cheese became lightly browned and bubbly, I pulled it out.The bread with hot and still soft, just the way I like it! This bread really made my ordinary dinner special! The kids even loved the bread, so this recipe is a keeper in my book! Thanks!!!”
“Well, I know that someone else tagged this in our game, but I had to try it too.I really liked it.Next time though, I may try to add a little bit more garlic because I love garlic so much.Nice recipe and a nice change of pace from the typical garlic bread.”
“I was skeptical of this recipe because of all the mayonnaise. It is so good I could eat the whole loaf myself. I did use reduced-fat mayo and milk instead of half and half. Good recipe!!!”
“I’m so happy I tried this recipe out cause it turned out amazing!Easy to prepare too. This will go wonderfully with our monthly family spaghetti dinners.Oh I did change a little, I used 4 gigantic cloves of garlic,so more like 5-6 cloves, 1 Tbsp. dried parsley, and used 1 Tbsp. dried onion flakes because I did not want to ruin my eye make up cutting an onion lol.Thank you so much for posting this wonderful way too good recipe!”
“This stuff is DELICIOUS!Definitely not for the diet-conscious, but oh so good!I didn’t have any garlic or onion so subbed garlic powder and onion powder and it was still wonderful.I could eat this every day (but I better not!).Will definitely be making again!”
“REALLY good stuff! We had a friend over who loves garlic bread so I was unsure about this combination.Needn’t have been – she and my BH scarfed the lot.The piece I did manage to comandeer was great. She left with the recipe.I’m planning on having this with soup for dinner in future. Thanks for a great recipe”
“OH MY!This is heavenly! It’s a meal in itself if you can’t seem to eat anything else at the table except this bread! The places where the mixture was a little thick…was just a bit too much but otherwise…perfect and that is my error not the recipe’s.Not for those on a diet that is for sure but this is one of those things that is SO worth it!”
“Yum, YUM!!!Incredibly delicious. Can’t wait to make it again.”
“OMG….this is fantastic. All I wanted was the bread for dinner.I plan on making this often as we all loved it.Thank you for posting this wonderful bread recipe…..Stephanie”
“This was fabulous! Will make these again! Thanks for posting!”
“This was very tasty – loved all the garlic/onion flavor. For our oven we will need to cook it longer than 5-6 mins just so it gets all melty and gooey. We will definitely make this again!!”
“Finally got around to trying this (had printed it out ages ago). This was delicious! I did use 1/2 mayo and 1/2 sour cream, mainly because I had sour cream to use up. Didn’t have cheddar, so colby monterey jack had to do. 1 T of dried parsley, and everything else stayed the same. I was very sceptical, because it looked watery and too thin. But once it went under the broiler, look out! It was transformed into a garlic piece of heaven! You can use any kind of long bread. I actually had an old piece of red and yellow pepper filone bread, and it was absolutely devine! My boys didn’t care what kind of bread it was, they fought over the last piece. My oldest son began to dream of putting this on top of chicken and veggies and broiling away! Definitely will be made again and again. Thanks!”
“LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this garlic bread!!!I added about 4 cloves of garlic (since I’m a garlic fanatic) :)I will be making this ALL the time.It turned out exactly like the picture.I used a cup of mayo and didn’t think it was too much…Thanks so much for the recipe!”
“Yes, the mayo is a bit too much.I suggest using only 2/3 of it, and if you really don’t like mayo, use only 1/2.Other than that, it cooked beautifully!”
“This bread was OK, but I think there was a little too much mayonaise. If I make this again I think I will use about half or even 1/4 the amount of mayo.”
“Just made this recipe and tried it. It was amazing! I was skeptical at first about the mayo, but it was absolutely irresistable. I had to fight my DH for the last piece. I served it with Mineststrone and cherry cheesecake muffins for dessert. Definate hit, and definate repeat!”
“The family really loved this garlic bread. It looked just like the picture too!Hubby and I decided next time we will use green onion instead of the parsley for some added zip.”
“3-1/2 stars.I love the overall taste and appetizing appearance of this. The only reason I’m not rating it 5-stars is because there is so much mayo in this recipe. After trying several variations, we prefer making cheese topping with only half the mayo and no cream.Still soft and delicious, but a little less junk…Thanks for the inspiration.”
“I will definitely be making this again! – Don’t eat it if your a health nut. Ha! I made the mistake of using English Muffins (for convienence, its what I had), I don’t suggest this – if you use a crusty bread (such as the one in the recipe) it will prevent your toast from getting too moist from the mayonnaise and cream.”
