THE GLASS
I produced the glass lampwork anchor bead (top of hair stick) and hang bead. The base glass is a light purple opaque glass enclosed in light lavender transparent glass. The glass is fired directly onto the copper and wired to the stick and chain.
These glass bead parts are made by me making use of a propane-oxygen torch to shape the molten glass, followed by 8 hours in the kiln to harden it. This bead is made & quot; & quot; free-form & quot;– I do not utilize any molds or forms to develop my beads.
THE METAL
The metal elements are copper, copper plated, and silver plated.
THE WOOD
I did not make the wood hair stick. This hair stick is square fit, roughly 7 & quot; & quot; long, and tapers to virtually a point. It is made from Bayong wood from the Philippines.
