yarn-grey, pastel handspun silk A brand-new variety of handspun yarn. First, I spun some songs from 100 % high grade merino in medium grey with subtle flecks of light green and lilac. I then spun a fine thread of pastel coloured pure bombyx silk and plied this with the merino singles to develop a balanced, supersoft, bouncy distinctive yarn which catches the light perfectly. The wool is spun slightly thick and thin – please see last photo versus the measuring tape for a precise concept of the gauge.
This skein would make a hat, or a great pair of distinct handwarmers -. or, of course, it might constantly be supplemented with some toning plain yarn for a bigger task
