This is my own original Outlander inspired design pattern based on one of Claire’s yummy caplets. I’ve adapted the style to create a more multifunctional knitwear accessory. You will be knitting both a capelet and a leaf capped drawstring cord which will allow you to style your finished piece as a tightly cinched in cowl, an off the shoulder shawl, an apron, a bustle or anything else you come up with. You can also knit just the cord in other yarns, add a flower, and wear it as a lariat scarf or belt.

1 skein Lion Brand Homespun yarn 185yd (169m)
US10.5 / 6.5mm straight knitting needles
the capelet is knit flat but you may prefer to use circular needles to accommodate the stitches
tapestry needle for weaving loose ends

30 x 9 & quot; (76 x 23cm)
35 x 10 & quot; (89 x 25.5cm)
directions are also given if you would like an even larger size
gauge 2.5sts = 1 & quot; (2.5cm)
measurements are approximate, depending on your tension
