Honey Crunch Baked Apples
About This Recipe
“I adopted this recipe from the RecipeZaar account in Feb. 2005, and made it for the first time in August 2006. I left out the dates, because I don’t really enjoy them, and the lemon juice b/c I forgot it, and these turned out flavorful and just delicious. I scaled the recipe down to two apples easily, and when I served them, I drizzled them with the sauce that collects in the bottom of the pan. A great, low-calorie treat. :)”

“I’m giving it a 5 star recipe because I made this recipe for a potluck and it was gone before me or my husband had a chance to taste it. I assume it tasted good judging by that. I’m fixing another bash so I can taste it for myself. What I did differently was peel and slice the apples into wedged because I didn’t have a corer, I only have a combination wedger and corer. I bought a 3 pound bag of Granny Smith (green) apples and doubled the recipe. I bought some Post Trail Mix Crunch cereal which is a blend of granola, raisins and almonds. I omitted the dates, lemon juice, nutmeg and butter because I didn’t hae those on hand. Instead of nutmeg I used pumpkin pie spice because that was what I had on hand. I sprinkled the pumpkin pie spice, cereal and honey liberally on the apples. I guess I’ll let youknow what I think of it after I taste my second batch.”
“5 Bright Stars! Used Recipe #221683 so there was no need to add extra nuts and dates (just increased the amount of granola accordingly).I served for dessert with ice cream. Next time I’ll peel the apples and either increase the honey or add a little brown sugar! Thanks for sharing . . . highly recommed to all!”
