  • “My wife is vegetarian and does not eat any fish or vegetables. She is 4 months pregnant right now, however, and has been craving fish. She has eaten Tuna Fish on sandwiches and grew tired of this quickly, still leaving her with a fish craving. I made this recipe for her and she loved it. I marinated for 1/2 hour and then wrapped it in foil with the marinade and baked at 375 for 45 minutes and it turned out great! I could still taste the salmon and the marinade complimented it well.”

  • “Well I did this a little different.I baked it instead of grilling, and used Mahi-Mahi instead of Salmon, but the result was the same.Fantastic, my husband was thrilled!I will be using this recipe again!!!”

  • “Wonderful. A big hit. I followed the tin foil advice and it came out great, but I opened the foil for the last five minutes to brown the top.Buy an extra pound of salmon and make some for sandwiches the next day; my leftovers that had been sitting in their juices in the fridge overnight were almost better than the hot dish!”

  • “This was my first attempt to cook grilled salmon and oh, was I pleased with the results! It is an easy recipe to fix and even easier on the palate to eat.I really like ginger so I think next time I’ll increase that particular ingredient.Looking forward to making it again.”

  • “Mmmmm….this was delicious! I cooked this one outdoors over charcoal, it turned it great! The honey gives a delicate sweetness without being overpowering. I love grilled fish, it’s so healthy for you. Great dinner, with no leftovers! Thanks, Mirjam! :)”

  • “We really liked this recipe – I used lemonade instead of orange juice when I made it and it was good…will try orange juice next time.”

  • “Really nice flavour combination, I wrapped the salmon in foil and baked in the oven, very tender.”

  • “Oooooo…this was a delicious recipe!I highly recommend letting this marinate the full 30 minutes if you can.I gave it 15-20 minutes myself, and I think a longer time would have penetrated the sauce into the fish more.I used a Foreman grill to grill these, and while the fish looked a little burnt by the time it was done, it was really the marinade that was burnt and it actually gave more of a crust effect without the burnt taste.I highly recommend this marinade to anyone, and I think I might try it on some other meat as well. Thanks for posting!”

  • “this recipe has got to be the best…! the salmon turned out so juicy and tasty! thanks!”

  • “We loved this!I used freshly grated ginger in place of the powder. Our grill is covered with a foot and a half of snow so I baked this at 350° for 15 minutes, basting once halfway through. It was perfect! Thanks Mirj for the lovely recipe!”

  • “I used this as a base recipe and changed it up a little. I didnt really measure much either, I tend to guestimate on measurements. I was told once that maple syrup and soy sauce was a fabulous marinade for salmon. So i thought I would substitute the honey out and used maple syrup instead. I also used pineapple orange juice instead of plain orange juice (that is what I had on hand). I did use the ground ginger and garlic powder too. The marinade was fantastic. After the salmon was done marinating, i reduced the marinade to make a dipping sauce.”

  • “My wife demands this every weekend. If we miss a weekend, she starts asking me on Monday if we’re going to make this the upcoming weekend.Had family in for a visit & I said I was making salmon.I could see the sneer (meat eaters). They just kept talking about how good it was.I keep to the recipe except I usually let it marinade for a couple of hours.I have recently started using orange-pinapple juice instead of just orange juice.Maybe even better.Keep the lid on the grill.Better than any salmon I have ever had at a resturant!”

  • “Delicious – followed the recipe exactly but cooked the salmon in the oven (baking it at 425 using the same time as indicated) instead of grilling. Marinade is delicioius and I think it will be wonderful on chicken also just increasing the marinating time. Thanks for sharing.”

  • “You’ve got a great combination of flavors in this marinade. I would’ve never thought to include ginger in a marinade, but I’m glad I tried it out. mmm mmm good.. I’ll definitely be using this again for my fish!”

  • “This recipe was really simple to make, and tasted great. I liked the sweet flavor of the honey, it was subtle and mixed well with the fish. I would recommend marinating overnight. Thanks again.”

  • “Simply fabulous! The only difference was that I used fresh ginger and garlic, turn the remaining marinade into a teriyaki sauce by adding brown sugar and corn flour to use as it’s sauce when serve. My family love it so much! Thank you for sharing!”

  • “Made this in a tin foil packet over the bbq and it was incredible! Also used the sauce over rice, yum.”

  • “We served these to our guests.Grilled in tin foil, with the top open, and they came out moist and yummy.I think next time I will use a little less honey.”

  • “We grill salmon at least twice a month but I’d never used a marinade.Well, I will from now on!This was enjoyed by the whole family.Very subtle ginger flavor and slightly sweet with the honey.”
