“Made this Thanksgiving day. Kids and adults all loved it. Just a tip… if you are going to double it (like I did) make two different batches. Easier that way in the long run and fewer chex get crushed in the mixing.”
“We have been making this recipe for several years, everyone in our family loves it.This recipe was on the box (Rice Chex). It is also good made with mint chocolate chips.”
“hey everyonechex are a type of cereal made by general mills”
“quick and easy, great for the “kids” at Christmas or for birthday parties. I don”t know what chex are either but I substituted what I thought would be a New Zealand equivalent andit worked.Audrey ,North Island n.z.”
“I used Crispix Cereal the 17.9 oz box(they are like chex cereal) I measured the 9 cups out. Then looked at the left over cereal and said might as well. And with thatI added the rest of the cereal to the mixture. With the additional cereal it still came out fine. The six hungry teenage girls gobbled it down in no time.”
“This was soo… good. We couldn’t stop eating it.I also made it using white chocolate and it was gone just as fast.”
“My 9 year old daughter has been begging me to make this for Christmas, what an easy recipie!!This is the best stuff to snack on at home or even at the office.”
“I’ve been making this recipe for years also.I’ve yet to meet a person who could pass up a bowl of this treat.”
“I agree with Carol, how can you POSSIBLY rate something that you have not even tried! Charisma, you may want to re-think your rating system. These were GREAT!!”
“I don’t understand people who rate recipes without even tasting them!I made this and it definitely deserves 5 stars.Yum!”
“This is very good, but WAY too much sugar!I’d start with 1 cup when making it again!”
“Yes.It IS sweet. To those of you who say it’s too sweet–some of us have never met “too sweet.”I LOVE it!”
“I used a 12 oz box of Crispix, 1/2 cup peanut butter, and 2 cups chocolate chips (that’s a 12 oz bag). And 2 cups powdered sugar.I melted the peanut butter, butter and choc chips in the microwave in a 4 cup Pyrex glass measuring cup.I poured this over the Crispix in a big bowl.I mixed it all with my hands! Then I put the sugar in and mixed it some more with my hands.”
“Waaaay too sweet. I prefer the recipe on the back of the Chex box which has half as much butter, half as much sugar, and like a third of the powdered sugar. Not only is it healthier, but it also tastes better (you can taste the peanut butter and the cereal stays crunchier.”
“I think this is waaaaay toooooo sweet, i was not able to even enjoy it becasue it was too sweet : (“
“I’ve been eating this since I was a tiny child!I’m excited to see other people call it Puppy Chow, as I thought it was just my family since everyone else I’ve encountered looks at me like I’m crazy when I call it that. This is so delicious, and a HUGE hit with my kids! They love it as much as I did when I was young.I also give it as Christmas gifts to my neighbors.”
“One of the first things I learned to make as a burgeoning cook when I was little!I still love these as the perfect nibble comfort food.I almost always add a little vanilla extract before I mix the chocolate mixture in, but otherwise the recipe is a dead on of what I make. The easiest way is to layer chex, then chocolate, chex, chocolate, etc, then mix.It just assures less mixing, and less breaking of chex.Wonderful and Tasty!!”
“Kids loved them. Recipe name catchy! Used only 3 cups powdered sugar and found that was still too much – will try 2 cups next time. “
“Good recipe!I added this into my holiday goodie basket and this was eaten pretty quickly. The only complaint I have is the powdered sugar is a bit overwhelming, perhaps the next time I make it I’ll cut back on it.Thank you for the great recipe!”
