  • “Just came across this recipe for Jansson”s temptation – I love it and have made it a few times (not from your recipe but my own which is almost identical) You are right when you said “sinful” but OH so good. The reason for this post is to suggest to try to get Swedish anchovies as they are cured in a slightly different manner and this recipe is fantastic using them – It is also excellent using regular Jan S Love your recipes”

  • “I’m sorry to give this recepie only 2 stars but we didn’t like it. I cooked it as directed, using the same ingredients. It came out looking just exactly like on photo, but the taste and smell was a bit too much for us. I have to mention that we are a seafood lovers and like anything with fish but we did not like this. I finally realized what people mean when they say “it smells fishy “. Will not make it again. Sorry for the bad review.”

  • “The husband loved this and wanted more anhovies in it.Not my cup of tea, but very rich, very easy to make and very nice if you are an anchovy lover.”

  • “Jan this was excellent!! I am so not a fishy person but I don’t mind the salty taste of anchovies. I cut up the anchovies and added them to the onions so that I couldn’t see them when the recipe was cooked…lol.I used full fat cream, what the heck, I didn’t want to spoil the taste. Served with Steak in Garlic Wine Sauce #126068 and Zucchini Mexicali #91864. A perfect meal!!”

  • “i usually put off making anything with cream as i am a novice. im glad i made this dish. i was rushed and couldnt sautee the onions so i put them in without doing that first but they softened up nicely anyway.i also wasnt sure what temp to bake this dish on so i guessed at 350 and was a bit nervous when i saw the cream bubbling…i wasnt sure if it would spoil/curdle or not, so i lowered the temp after 15 minutes to 250. the potatoes were done soon after that and even though it didnt look as nice as the photos here the taste was great.i love the combination of ingredients here; never would have thought to put the anchovies with the potatoes.i also threw in one mashed garlic clove before i popped it into the oven.i will make this one again for sure!!!”

  • “I love this recipe – I’ve been making it for years and it’s a real winner. Thanks for posting this Jan as everyone should try it!”
