  • “This is the same as a family recipe my Aunt often makes for brunches. My grandmother got it from the wife of the pastor of her church, Mrs. Kearse. It uses 1/4 c less sugar.I love this, it keeps for a few days and tastes so wonderful! You can even use 1:1 whole wheat and white flour with no real change in taste.NOTE: I just made this again and I wanted to add that I only baked this 1 hour and next time might do a little less.”

  • “This is just like the apple cake recipe my grandmother gave me. She uses 2 cups sugar and 1/4 cup OJ. It is the best apple cake I have ever had!”

  • “I was looking for a new apple cake recipe and came across your cake. I have made four of them (3 to give to friends) in less than a week. It is delicious and very easy. I used cortland and granny smith apples. I sprinkle a little confectionary sugar on top when it is cold. Baked 1 1/2 hrs. Thank you for sharing.Chef 720649”

  • “Very good recipe, easy and tasty! My oven is old and runs too hot, so the bottom got a little dark and was dry (not the fault of the recipe!)Next time, I’m going to do a layer of apples first then batter, etc…I used granny smith apples for this recipe.I brought half to work and am getting rave reviews. Thanks for making me the hero of the day.”

  • “I was looking for an easy apple cake recipe. This was so good and smelled so good while baking that I ended up making another one the next day, as the first one was already half-eaten EXCELLENT!”
