If you have never ever attempted Leno Weave on your Rigid Heddle Loom … here is an excellent location to start!
My simple scarf is quick to weave with conveniently available worsted wool yarn. My pattern offers clear directions on ways to weave the Leno pattern stitch which produces fragile lacy “lanes” in the material.
Did I mention the word “relaxing”? … absolutely! The rhythm of the tabby weave and the easy Leno stitch hand formation is a terrific means to wind down after the tension of the day.
The pattern assumes you know ways to contort your stiff heddle loom and weave “tabby” on it.
You will certainly require a rigid heddle loom with a minimum of a 10″ weaving width, about 500 backyards of worsted weight wool yarn, a 12″ pick-up stick, stick shuttle bus, a fringe twisting device, scrap yarn, warp separator paper, and scissors. My example is woven on my gorgeous maple “Schacht Flip” 15-inch loom utilizing 2 skeins of Paton’s worsted weight 100 % wool yarn. The finished scarf is approximately 72″ long and 9′ large, but this could vary relying on how firmly you weave.
This listing is for a PDF pattern and not for the finished scarf. The pattern is offered for immediate download after checkout … so you can get weaving as soon as possible!
