  • “This was absolutely delicious!I won’t have to search for another Lentil Soup recipe. This is it!My husband loved it and he is hard to please!”

  • “I’ve been meaning to make this recipe for a few weeks now and I finally made it tonight! We loved, loved, loved this recipe!I used leftover grilled sausage and it really added to the flavor.I did find it a little bit salty. Next time I’ll reduce the salt. I forgot to add the diced tomatoes andI omitted the green peppers. My children were grateful that both items were omitted. They couldn’t get enough and my very picky 4 year old is already planning to have the leftovers for lunch tomorrow!”

  • “Yummy!I love this soup. This is what I’m eating for lunch this week.I used 3 small carrots.I used dry red lentils.I used mild italian sausages.I boiled them to reduce the fat. Then I cooked them in the skillet (without any grease).I sliced them.I love lentil soups and this one is great. Thanks Charlotte.Made for Gimme 5 tag game”

  • “This was an excellent soup!I made a few changes based on people’s comments:I omitted the water, as we like a thicker soup, I added 1/2 t. each curry powder, cumin, turmeric, and red pepper flakes.I garnished with fresh cilantro and it was so yummy! My husband added a bit of plain yogurt to cool it down since I also put in extra black pepper. He said the yogurt “added an extra dimension of flavor.”Mmmmm! It’s a keeper…”

  • “I have been looking for an easy Lentil soup that also tasted good. This recipe is it. I used ground beef instead of the sausage because that is what I had on hand. My son who is 13 hates it when I make soups because they usually are not filling enough for him but he really liked this one and got full. This soup is great!”

  • “I’m giving this 4 stars because my husband absolutely loved it. I, on the other hand, wasn’t a big fan. It seemed a little acidic, with the tomatoes flavoring the soup mostly. Although I should’ve realized just looking at the recipe that it was a thin broth-like soup, I guess I was thinking it would be a bit more substantive. It wasn’t to my taste, but my husband devoured it.”

  • “I had never made lentils before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. This was really good and very easy to make. I followed the recipe exactly as written. I used red lentils (not sure if that makes any difference or not). I really enjoyed this and will make again. Thanks Charlotte.”

  • “This is diffinetly one of the best new soups I’ve tried. Easy to make and it taste great.”
