Samunnat beads from Nepal and Kazuri beads from Kenya comprise this statement necklace. The Samunnat beads are just under 3/4 of an inch in size and the Kazuri beads differ from 1/4 of an inch to 1/2 an inch in size. This kazuri and Samunnat bead necklace is 19 inches long.
Samunnat beads are hand made by Nepalese women who are the victims of domestic violence. The beads are hand made from polymer clay and the designs and colours are terrific. Samunnat beads is a non-profit organisation established to assist these women lead a much better life.
The Kazuri beads are hand made and hand painted by ladies in Kenya. The Kazuri Bead business employes 360 ladies who are all paid reasonable earnings and afterwards the goods are offered under the Fair Trade Agreement. It is an ethically run business and has assisted lots of women, particularly single moms, to work their method out of poverty and care for their household.
