  • “Mizz Nezz I just has this wonderful onion cheese bread to compliment a seafood chowder and it was heaven! I didn’t make it, Derf did but it was so perfect that I had to review it!She sliced lovely 1/2″ slices and toasted them – just a perfect companion with the seafood chowder. It is in my cookbook now!”

  • “Personally, I’d give this 3 stars and DW gives it 5 stars. So I split the difference.IMHO, the consistency of this is more like a cake or something, not bread-like.The cheese and onion flavours are heavenly though. Thanks for posting!”

  • “Delicious! I made the recipe as written, except for shredding the cheese. I sliced it into tiny cubes which made for amazingly tasty little cheese pockets in the baked bread. Yum! I will be making this again, and may even add some jalapenos next time.”

  • “So this was a major experiment for me as several things went wrong.1 – didn’t have any bisquick when I thought I did, so I found a substitute recipe that called for veg oil.2 – didn’t have veg oil so attempted to use olive oil.The end result wasn’t awful, but I’m sure the original would taste 100 times better!I am planning to have a “re-do” of this one so that I can actually follow the recipe, then I’ll re-rate it.”

  • “These are delicious! I made exactly as stated only I added about 2 t parsley flakes to the batter. They came out great!”

  • “I used a teaspoon of canola oil instead of the butter (and skipped putting the butter on top), & used lowfat chedder and lowfat Bisquick. I took the bread to a potluck and it was well received.”

  • “Delicious bread, so easy to make and looks great too.Made it exactly as is didn’t change a thing. I had forgotten to review and was afraid I could not find it again.Thank heaven I had copied it on a piece of paper. It has now found a place in my favorite recipes. Thanks for the great and easy recipe.”

  • “So easy to make and very tasty. I used about 6 green onions and added a little more cheese. A nice light onion flavor! Thank you MizzNezz for posting this recipe!”

  • “Sept.15,2002 Inez, this was some onion/cheese bread!! and sooo easy to make. Presentation is wonderful, Looks good enough to eat!!The onion/cheese is a very nice flavour mix. Next time I think I will add some herbs for interest, not that they were needed, it was delicious. Thanks for sharing, will definately make again!! An update: March 25/04 – Made this to go with a seafood chowder today, thought I’d let you know I cut it into breadstick size and toasted it in the oven ’til it was nice and crisp, a perfect match with the chowder! Thanks again, this is a good quick, easy and tasty quick bread. “
