  • “Fantastic! I made this for the first time today, and it was great. Instead of making 1 roll out of the bread dough, I made 2 smaller ones. I also only left it in the oven 30 minutes. Served with brocoli soup. Big hit.”

  • “I needed a quick dinner so decided on this. This was good and easy to make. I did have some problems with the dough sticking so next time I would lay some flour down before rolling out the dough. I didn’t use the egg or the italian seasoning. I added parmesan cheese to the top. Mine cooked in about 20-25 minutes. This was good but when we added Recipe #255242for dipping it was a five star recipe.”

  • “Very simple, great tasting recipe. I’ve made it by brushing with the egg and by using pizza sauce; both ways are good. I’ve also used the frozen dough and homemade–homemade was definitely better, but frozen was fine. I brush butter on when bread comes out of the oven and sprinkle with garlic salt.”

  • “I thought that this was lacking in flavour but that is easily adjusted. The next time I do this, I will omit the egg wash and put a thin layer of pizza sauce on the crust then layer with the pepperoni, cheeses and Italian Spice. I used freshly grated parmesan and brushed the top of the roll with melted garlic butter. It was done in about 25 minutes and it looked really nice when sliced. Thx for sharing this simple recipe Debe.”

  • “easy and amazing! Thanks!!”

  • “Good bread.Served it with Recipe #47188.Great meal for a cool spring evening.”

  • “This is so quick and easy!It reminded me of something similar my dad use to make when I was growing up, but he added sauce too. Very versitle as you can add ham, olives – whatever you’d add to your pizza. This makes a great snack or meal by adding a salad. Yum!”

  • “Wow! This was really good. Made it for my daughter for lunch one day. She was impressed!”

  • “Excellent!!We were short on time, so we used refrigerated pilsbury crescent creations dough. It’s 8oz and comes in a sheet of dough, so we halved all of the other ingredients and followed the rest of the directions exactly. It did take slightly less time to bake – about 25 minutes. It was excellent, and we will try next time with frozen or fresh bread dough. What a great recipe, Debe – thanks!”

  • “very good”

  • “I made this for dinner. I used frozen Rhodes bread dough, it thawed on the counter most of the day. It was easy to roll out with a little bit of flour to keep it from sticking to the rolling pin. I skipped the parm cheese but didn’t miss it. I thought it may not taste good without pizza sauce but it was great. I would make two next time as it went very fast. thanks”

  • “I know I’m not the brightest bulb in the pack, but I actually had trouble making this. The bread dough needed lots of flour to keep it from sticking and the first loaf I made I actually had to throw away, as it wound up a doughy nasty mess. However, I persevered and did pretty well on the second loaf using plenty of flour to keep it from sticking.I used some Prego spaghetti sauce, threw in some fresh mushrooms and black olives, as well.Honestly, I didn’t have very high hopes but was pleasantly surprised! I was very good and the whole house loved it! I’ll make notes for next time, probably try the Pillsbury french loaves in the biscuit section and add some extra cheese.All-in-all, I was very happy with how this turned out.”

  • “Delicious – followed it exactly but added a thin layer of basil pesto on top of the egg, minus the italian seasoning. It was amazing esp dipped in warm pizza sauce.”

  • “A quick and easy recipe to make! We did enjoy it but seemed like it needed a little extra something to blend with the italian seasoning. Pizza sauce or maybe even a garlic butter sauce to dip would be nice. Thank you Debe for posting this recipe!”

  • “This is delicious!!Absolutely terrific, thanks for sharing!”

  • “This is delicious.Just like a calzone.I added cornmeal to the bottom for a little added crunch, brushed top with butter and added Seasoning on top, too.My DH cooked this once – he added ham, yum!”

  • “Very easy to make and it tastes great! I forgot to add the italian seasoning and it was still good!”

  • “I took this to church for coffee hour Sunday, and it was the hit of the day!Great recipe, and so easy!”

  • “This was easy and really tasty! I didn’t follow the recipe exactly, but just used it as a guide and put the ingredient amounts that seemed right. It baked in about 30 minutes in my oven. Thanks for posting!”

  • “Everyone loved these.I will definitely use this recipe for now on anytime I make stromboli. However, the bake time is off.I only needed 25 minutes…any longer, I think they would have burned.Maybe the reason everyone is having time problems is that the directions do not state how thin to roll the dough.I rolled mine fairly thin and ended up with a rectangle about 11 x 17 or so and rolled up starting at the long side.I can see this taking 40 minutes if it was rolled out thicker or rolled started at the short side, but I still think the outside would get way too dark.Anyway, thanks for posting…it is really tasty with the Italian seasoning.”
