  • Reviews

  • “This recipe was just perfect. It made a wonderful christmas gift.I would suggest to not even flatten out the candies and just leave them as balls. It works out either way.”

  • “Easy to make and twice as easy to eat. My daughter gave them the thumbs up, so loves peppermint patties.”

  • “Made these with my kids for our some family guests.Everyone loved them, they were great! We keep them in the freezer and like to eat them while they are still cold.”

  • “Really easy, but messy too! They are just like York.”

  • “Forget buying dry old yorks. These things are addictive. I keep a supply in my freezer and pull them out when I want a sweet. Love the crunch of the cold chocolate! The only problem is that I can’t find a way of hiding them in my freezer!”

  • “These were easy and are very good. My family likesthem. I will be making them again. Thanks”

  • “I thought these were great.Very easy to make and everyone loved them.I put them on my holiday cookie tray and they were the first thing to go.I will be making them again way before next Christmas. Thanks for the treat.”

  • “Very good. These were a big hit in my house. At little messy and time consuming but worth it.I am keeping them in my freezer for when we want them.My 4yo says YUMMY!”

  • “Mmmmmmm! These were fantastic! I really hate the pickiness of dipping cookies in chocolate so I cheated! I brushed one side of the patties with the chocolate, allowed them to harden in fridge, flipped them over and painted the other side!It was a breeze! Thanks for such a different yummy treat. If only I could stop eating them…”

  • “Made 2 different ways, you do NOT need any additional sugar if you slowly add in the sugar. If you however just dump the sugar in (as the recipe kind of suggests) then you need additional sugar.Just a helpful tidibt, otherwise these are SUCH a treat and delicious.”

  • “Lovely – and easy – recipe! I always make my family baskets of homemade candy every Christmas and this was a wonderful addition as those Name Brand peppermint patties are my mom’s favorite. I also tried a version with almond extract instead of mint, and some ground almond in the filling which was great. Maybe next year I will try orange extract and some orange zest! Thanks Mirj!”

  • “This recipe is delicious!BUT…..the patties kept melting when I put them in the chocolate to dip.The finished product is ugly and messy (which is not making me happy because I like my homemade goodies to look as wonderful as they taste).I tried letting them sit on a table and dry a bit; I tried putting them in the frig.I tried the freezer. To no avail. They melted when they hit the chocolate.”

  • “I can’t believe I haven’t reviewed these yet. I have been making your recipe for years and we love it! So do all the people on my “goodie tray” lists. I wrap these individually in foil so they don’t make the rest of the goodie tray taste like peppermint. 🙂 So yummy! I never buy store bought patties anymore.”

  • “I made this recipe many, many times for Christmas gifts.Found it in Taste of Home. The nice peppermint taste is perfect for an after dinner treat.”

  • “This recipe is soooo good.I only made half the batch and tried the other reviewers suggestion to slowly add the sugar.I found I still had to add more and used about 3 cups for half a batch.I also used peppermint oil instead of extract.I used 1/8 heaping tsp and WOW it was strong, but good!My 8 yo loved it! Thanks for posting.”

  • “Very good, but the amount of powered sugar was wrong, i had to add double.”

  • “These certainly tasted good but I could not get them to look pretty.Maybe I didn’t have the right dipping tools or maybe I made them too big.I will try again as they recipe is too yummy to give up on.”

  • “Very good! Was lazy and places small amount of chocolate on sil pat and then placed the dried filling patty and spooned chocolate on top, mint patties that look like oreos! Still yummy no matter how they look!”

  • “these taste just like york peppermint patties, but actually better, I also did them in balls it was quicker and easier”
