24,99 USD
Puya alpestris – This UNBELIEVABLE sturdy bromeliad relative is native to the high slopes of the Andes of Southern Chile. Produces a 4-5 foot tall by 2-3 foot large rosette of light green, recurved, marginal-spined leaves that are silver-gray and striped underneath. In the spring 4-5 foot tall, branching spikes are produced with the most incredible dark, metalic turquoise blue-green flowers. A truely distinct and extraordinary flower color. I put among these in a friends yard and, when it flowered he had a supper celebration simply to display this particular plant!
Extremely tough, not particular about soil but ideally well drained. Prefers complete sun. Very drought tolerant. Hardy to approx. 15-20 degrees F. Sale plants are extremely nice one gallon size plants similar to the ones in the last picture. They will be shipped bare-root by means of Concern Mail.
