  • About This Recipe

“A little different from other spinach dips – not quite as rich, a little “tangy-er.”:)”

    Ingredients

  • 1 (11ounce) packages frozen spinach
  • 1 (8ounce) packages softened cream cheese
  • 3/4 cupplain yogurt
  • 2garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/8 teaspooncayenne pepper, to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoonsalt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspooncurry powder( optional, if used please use good quality, fresh powder!)
  • Directions

  • Cook spinach according to package directions; drain thoroughly.
  • Place all ingredients in blender and process until smooth.
  • Chill for at least 3 hours before serving with vegetables or chips. For a milder dip, mix in a little cottage cheese before serving.
  • The tip tastes completely different depending on whether or not you use the curry powder, so do try both versions.:)I usually make it without, but that’s only because some folks don’t enjoy curry –myself, I’m hard pressed to choose version I prefer.

  • “Made exactly as listed but increased the Garlic. DH loves this one. Thanks for the keeper !”

  • “This is excellent. I used the plain yougurt, lemon, Vegeta (which is sold in the foreign foods section) and I added a cup of mild Picante sauce. Yum Yum.”

  • “I wanted to make a spinach dip that included cream cheese instead of the usual ‘soup’ variety. I was very pleased with how this recipe turned out. It had a lovely flavor and texture. I didn’t have any plain yogurt on hand so I substitued Breakstone’s Lite sour cream. Since it was Christmas morning and I was in a hurry to get done, I used 1/4 tsp. garlic powder instead of mincing a garlic clove. One bit of advice, if you need a double batch still prepare them one batch at a time. My blender really had trouble trying to blend all that cream cheese. Great recipe!”
