care to cover the protruding metal points with clay. This also helps to hold the gears onto the piece and not just depending on glue. I protect all of my watch parts with glue, and wire, and pieces of clay which help to bond the parts to the piece more firmly. Much better safe than sorry! This is particularly essential with jewelry pieces being worn. They have to be more long lasting and ensured against scratching and snagging. *
