  • “this was very good.hard to eat just one piece.”

  • “The flavor was phenomenal!!!The only amendment I would make is to slice the berries first, in addition to adding more…perhaps 1 1/2 or 2 pints.Enjoy!!!!”

  • “Best eaten after chilled 3-5 hours. Was very delicious and so easy to make!”

  • “Delicious! I chose this recipe because all the others I looked at called for Jello and I didn’t have any. Am I glad I picked this one! It’s wonderful. Easy and tasty and made with ingredients that you don’t have to run out to the store to get. I added about a teaspoon of lemon juice and 3 drops of red food coloring to the glaze after it was done cooking. I used 2 pints of sliced strawberries and I tossed the berries in the glaze before pouring into my pie shell. My whole family loved it! Thank you!”

  • “What a stunning pie.I used Diplo-mom’s cardamom cookie dough as a pie crust (Recipe #286399) and the pairing was indescribably good.As suggested, I added a few crushed strawberries to the sauce as it was cooking, and it came out with its own delicate strawberry flavor that stood on its own very nicely. I ended up tossing my berries in the sauce and then spooning them into the crust which left some of the sauce in the pan, and the emphasis was more on the fresh berries, which was exactly what I wanted. We all ate our pieces with a bit of Cool Whip on the side just for dipping, and everyone agreed this is the best strawberry pie in the history of strawberry things.”

  • “I didn’t get to taste any, so I guess it was pretty good. I crushed about half of the berries in with the sauce, and left the other half whole. Super quick and easy, thanks foxjen.”

  • “You need to eat this pie as soon as possible. I made it 24 hours in advance and the crust was soggy. The pie was still tasty and was a great way to eat fresh strawberries, but it wasn’t perfect. I wish I made it the day of eating.”

  • “The easiest pie to make.I cheated and used a graham cracker crust.I too chopped up about 4 strawberries to cook in the sauce to give it a nice pink color.I hulled and dried the rest of the strawberries then lined them up inside the crust and then poured the sauce over them.I had way too much sauce for the amount of strawberries and size of crust.Next time I will reduce the sauce by half.Smash up the strawberries to add in the sauce and slice up the berries instead of leaving them whole.”

  • “This pie is delicious and easy to make. I love the fact that there are only a few ingredients. The only thing I did different was I added a few fresh sliced peaches to the pie. I will absolutely be making this again. Thank you for posting the recipe!!”

  • “Good way to enjoy strawberries; I was looking for something different than shortcake, and this had the essentials (pastry, berries, whipped cream) with a nicely different presentation and texture.”

  • “I made this pie exactly as written and the flavour was great. The next time I make this pie I will add crushed strawberries to the sugar/corn starch mixture as others have as the pale mixture was not very appetizing. I topped it with Devon cream to “hide” the sugar mixture.”

  • “WOW Zoowie Holy mackeral kingfish (from amos and andy 50’s tv). Easy and GREAT will do it many more times if the grim reaper stays away. Seriousally this is great!”

  • “I made this for dessert after what I knew would be a heavy meal. I used a chocolate graham crust. I was looking for a recipe that didn’t use gelatin. Next time I will add a few drops of red food coloring. There weren’t any leftovers! Thanks, foxjen.”

  • “I really enjoyed this pie and since it didn’t use gelatin (which I didn’t have) it was just what I was looking for.I used a homemade regular pie crust however I think it would be better with a graham cracker crust.I also added a couple of drops of red food coloring to the mixture for a nice color.”

  • “great startup recipe on my first strawberry pie. Thanks!”

  • “Absolutely Delicious and super easy to make too.I left 1/3 of the berries whole and sliced the rest made a terrific pie.My only complaint is there wasn’t a slice left over for later. Thanks for posting a Jello free recipe.”

  • “I was looking for a recipe that didn’t use jello, but we felt like this lacked a depth of flavor. Probably justpersonal preference and taste.Very easy to make and set up well.I did add red food coloring, just to make it look prettier. Thanks for sharing.”

  • “This pie was so easy and delicious. My husband and mother raved and they are picky. If your strawberries are real sweet, cut back on the sugar.I also glazed the pie crust with orange juice before baking.”

  • “Very good pie!I took it to a family gathering and everyone LOVED it.Much better strawberry flavor than other strawberry pies I’ve tried.I followed one of the other suggestions and crushed 1/2 the berries and added them to the sugar/cornstarch mixture while cooking.Very good and although I was worried, it set up well.”

  • “Mine didn’t set either. Maybe i didn’t cook long enough. It was a runny mess so we all dug in with spoons still very good.”
