  • “I really loved the flavor of this dish!!! I used the small round steaks (not the most tender cut), andbullion instead of the broth (it was a good brand though). The “sauce”, I thought was the best part–make sure you have nice crusty bread to go with this to mop up the juice!! I did thicken it a bit with a slurry of flour and water (about 3tbsp to 1/8 cup water). This was really good!!! Oh, and I DID use a crockpot!!! Thanks Sharlene!!!”

  • “I’ve mad this several times, but somehow I’ve manage to forget to rate it!
Ok, for one, super easy and two it’s super good! Only thing I always do different, and I do it in every recipe, is I add way more garlic, like 5-6 cloves, because that’s what we like and I always add the large can of tomatoes. Other than that, made exactly as written. Great served with mashed potatoes and veggie of your choice.”

  • “My boyfriend and I absolutely loved it!!!!!Tasty , easy to make, and relatively quick cause my meat cut was thin so I only cooked it for an hour.Thank you very much.”

  • “This is a great recipe although I changed a few things.I didnt flour my meat, I grilled it first then cut it across the grain in tiny strips, I also used fresh roma tomatoes chopped up instead of canned…and I added in jalapenos sliced lengthwise for spice. Thanks!”

  • “Delish and easy!I used thin cut beef eye of round steak and so I had to cut my cooking time down to just an hour (which works for me!)The ingredients tasted great together. The meat was very tender.”

  • “This was good and really easy to make. I used 1 large onion and 1 large bell pepper. I cooked it for 2 1/2 hrs and it came out just fine. Thanks for a simple and satisfying recipe.-CynD”

  • “This was very good, I cooked it in the crockpot and the meat was so tender my FIL thought it was ground beef. I do think it needed more tomato flavor.Next time I will add another can of tomatoes plus some tomato paste.”

  • “This was so good. I used 2 large round steaks cut up into 3 pieces each. They were tender and falling apart at the end of cooking time. I served it with some Puerto Rican rice. Loved it!”

  • “I have made a this as the recipe reads & I have made a couple of changes such as adding a can of diced tomatoes& a small can of tomato sauce . Either way it is great and I highly reccomend it . John E. from Indiana .”

  • “This was a great meal.I followed the recipe, and then instead of bringing to a boil on the stove, I put it all in a crockpot and let it simmer that way.It worked out fine.I also thickened the gravy once it was done cooking, and served it with mashed taters and green beans! Thanks for a good one!”

  • “Very tasty. I made this in the crockpot. I used a can of rotel tomatoes and some crushed tomatoes that I had in the freezer. It made lots of yummy gravy to go over the mashed potatoes. Thanks for a great recipe.”

  • “I used cube steaks. Very tender and tasty. I did use more garlic. Served it to my neighbors and got rave reviews. Served with Mashed Potatoes and Green Beans. Great dinner Thank You for the recipe. Hugs”

  • “Everything went wrong the day I cooked this. The highlight of the day was this recipe. It was perfect, however I did remove the meat after cooking and add cornstarch and water to thicken the gravey. I will down load this recipe for my personal use.”

  • “Very tasty! The sweet peppers gave this a much better flavor than my usual recipe.I cooked it on the stovetop and threw on some baby carrots the last half hour.I thickened the sauce to gravy consistency with a slurry of 4T. flour and the rest of the 15 oz. can of broth.Served with noodles, it made a complete meal.In general, DH doesn’t care much for tomato-ey foods, but with this dish, he commented over and over how good it was.He said, “You really nailed it this time” as he took a big second helping.”

  • “Oh my this was good.I made this last night using round tip steak and tenderized round steak and it was fabulous.I used one very large green pepper and 2 onions and it was perfect.I will make your recipe again, it made my house smell sooooo good.I served this with cheesy mashed potatoes and roasted asparagus, delicious.Thank you for sharing this with us.”
