A handsome vintage 50’s navy blue wool double breasted fireman’s dress coat, which overlaps on the right or left. Notch at collar and wide revers. Functions 2 synthetic pocket flaps on lower front with information double top stitching on collar, revers, and faux pocket flaps. Gold braid trim on lower sleeves and five gold-tone square pins above gold trim on left sleeve. Gold-tone buttons with picture of two crossed trumpets, stars and lettering spelling fire department are on coat front and lower sleeves, with the front buttons being larger than the sleeve buttons. The collar has 2 gold-tone pins with picture of crossed trumpets. The front, sides, upper back and sleeves are lined. The interior front has 2 big pockets. This coat probably came from a battalion chief or district chief, for the insignia on coat is two crossed trumpets. Images 1, 2 and 3 most properly record the color of garment.
