I like these classic pieces of hand crafted crewel. The entire design is stitched, including the background in a warm sage color. So much time and care enters into a piece like this. This design is a of some poppies in the garden, with orange, muted yellow and cream and grey, with leaves and stems in a variety of environment-friendlies from forest to olive green. Really pretty, happy yet advanced design.

The piece is beautifully performed and nicely framed. It has a double mat – the indoor mat is a dark sage green, and the outer mat is cream (the outer mat has one little & quot; & quot; ripple & quot;, possibly from being exposed to humidity however not obvious unless the light is shining on it simply right. The frame is wood with gold surface. The frame has some nicks and dings. Might be touched up with a & quot; & quot; gold & quot; pen or paint.

The piece is framed under glass to keep it safeguarded. The back has a paper lining and a wire and is prepared to hang on the wall.
