Vintage Mauchline ware souvenir box made of sycamore wood. The inside is blue with a white rope like trim around the edges. It has a picture of St Aubin, Jersey on the lid. I think this is an early piece because the picture of the town has very few buildings and there are only sailing ships in the harbor.

The making of Mauchline ware took place from the 1820s until 1933 by the firm of W & A Smith. A fire in 1933 stopped production, which was never restarted. These boxes are extremely collectable.

It is approx. 3 3/4 & quot; x 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 & quot; tall.
