Weekend Snapshot: Soft Focus

After three years of living on the other side of the state, this weekend I’ll be packing up my car and taking a short six hour road trip to Cape Cod to spend time with my family, and of course, the ocean. It’s been far too long since my last visit; I haven’t been back since 2011, and I’m longing for the crisp, foggy mornings of the upper Cape. There’s nothing better than wrapping yourself in the softest of sweaters and walking down to the water’s edge with a hot cup of coffee to watch the mist slowly burn off.

When cold morning transforms to hot afternoon, that’s when I’ll trade my sweater for a swimsuit and walk the shore searching for salt-smoothed beach stones and etched sea glass. Our summer weekends are slowly dwindling, be sure to soak up every last one of them.
