100g Space-Dyed Merino D ‘Arles Wool Top – Hellebore by MandaCrafts
7,00 GBP Charming bouncy wool top! So bouncy it is a difficult job getting it to stay in a bag to send out off! The bounce remains with it when spun and makes a lovely yarn. I have actually also been informed if felts wonderfully too.
< br/ > I hand-dyed it with acid dyes, in a technique understood (here in the UK) as space-dyeing, colours put across the tops in stripes and steamed to set.
the tops are 21 micron Merino D’Arles fleece, the wool was grown in the South of France.
This colourway I called Hellebore, bright cerise pink, a softer dusky increased, tan, light green and lemon yellow. The colour series repeats about every yard, so you can vary the colour results as you spin. Spin just as it comes for long areas of colour, or split the top down and pre-draft for much shorter colour bursts. Then you have the further option of plying it back on itself to socialize the colours, or navajo ply to keep them distinct. It would also look lovely spun as a single and plied with a wool or silk thread in a toning colour.
< br/ > I have actually consisted of several pictures, to try and give a great idea of the colour, but I can’t warranty that it will look precisely the very same on your screen as it does on mine!
So this listing is for a bag of Hellebore dyed tops weighing approx. 100g
