Thought I would show off my ebay finds – im so chuffed with them! the gorgeous pinky/orange Bolivian Frasada blanket and the magenta-y Suzani cushion that ive placed prominently on the blanket seeing as it looks soooo lovely there – well, I think it does..possibly incredibly loud for many, but i guess I have fairly loud taste! Im incubating an idea right now, seeing as my day job is looking shakier and shakier, im thinking of getting together with the folks in India and a few other developing countries who make lovely things:- Uzbek Suzanni’s, Indian Kantha quilts, Bolivian Blankets, Turkish kilim pillows, Rabari shawls are the ones ive come up with so far, and starting a little fair -trade business in beautiful colourful things for nest making! I really want to emphasize the fair trade part, and would like to make it a business that champions women, so the crafts are going to all made by women trying to support themselves with their own skills. Got to research it a bit, but I think it would work…might have to wait for the economy to pick a wee bit, but I have good feeling about this.. we will see!
