This is the original Ropedoncedar planter system I’ve been offering for the last 7 years. I have upgraded to a new no rope handles for inlaid finger grips on my individual planter boxes because of rotting and mold issues with the rope handles after the first season. Please place a request for the addition of 1/2 inch holes and rope supplied in your checkout note if still desired with this order. Sorry, I have been overwhelmed with orders above and beyond anything I’ve ever experienced before. I have received orders in the last 30 days that exceed all of what I did for 2019. It’s nice in one sense, but our order to ship date has doubled from 2 weeks to 4 weeks. Thanks for your understanding and I’m putting new systems in place to meet the demand. I will be providing a new purchase incorporating more of a family activity by being able to do a DIY build vs. me building the planter boxes for you at a lower price. My hope is people will prefer this option and want to take on a family project to work on together and grow family memories not only vegetables and herbs. This will be delayed until I catch up with these parts being needed to complete my current backlog. Hopefully, I can make this happen over the next 3-4 weeks. I will also introduce three new vertical products along with an option to purchase the plans. This will answer my foreign country requests to be able to build throughout the world with their own local wood products. I have made several improvements both in support and long term usability. I moved our horizontal supports into our rail system step-ups thus providing a steadier side to side motion. I now use dados to inlay my wood edges with one another providing a stronger all-around system in both my planter boxes and rail system supports. The hardest improvement was the decision not to provide rope handles any longer because of repeated reports of the ropes molding and or rotting out after the first season. It is entirely a stand-alone with the legs not shown here, or I have placed a horizontal back brace that can be screwed into a wall or other if leaned against something. If you choose not to use the legs as a stand-alone somewhere, they easily tuck up under the side rails out of sight. If you are people like ourselves; people that like to cook, eat, and more importantly know where your food comes from then we believe we have an answer for you in RopedOnCedar’s raised bed gardening system. Let RopedOnCedar help you to realize your dream of having a vertical garden that works within your limited boundaries of a 3ft by 8ft back patio or condo view balcony. How would you like to take advantage of knowing that you can just walk out our back door and cut fresh herbs, produce, and flowers? Wouldn’t it be nice not to have to jump into your car and drive 10 or 20 minutes round trip and not even get the same quality as home grew loved and nurtured plants as your own? The possibilities are endless, and we have only scratched the surface with the below suggestions; basil, chives, dill, catnip, mint, parsley, calendula, perilla, chamomile, oregano, nasturtium, rosemary, coneflower, sage, Kalanchoe, tarragon, gardenia, thyme, oxalis, tomatoes, Anthurium, peppers, lavender, spinach, orchids, kale, watercress, squash, cucumber, swiss chard, arugula, peas, lettuce, and strawberries. We are aware there are many people out there that just don’t try out their “green thumbs” because they feel that they just don’t have the yard, space, or expertise even to consider trying a small garden. We found ourselves in that same situation a few years back and wanted to make a change. You will find by using our rustic display box you will be able to grow more from a vertical planter in a smaller footprint. You can create your very own vertical garden right outside your front or back door. Cooks love the ease of opening up the slider and cutting fresh herbs for the evening meal. All RopedOnCedar, large planters bins, are 6 inches thick and approx 5 inches at the base and 7 inches at the top from front to back. Size: All of the below extend 28 inches out from the wall to the front of the base. It stands 35 inches tall. If you would like more than one raised bed gardening system and save 5% just click on the Size drop-down to see savings for buying two or more systems. We include legs and make them, so they tuck underneath if you choose not to use them. Use the “Size Option” drop-down to see the different prices for the 3 or 4 planter bin gardening systems. Like to make it a living wall herb garden planter version? Just let us know on your check out a note, and we can make it more upright for this purpose. Here is a list of crops that grow well vertically: Kale Peas Beans Tomatoes Tomatillo Eggplant Peppers Cucumbers Pumpkins (small varieties) Melons Squash Assembly:…Just need to screw in the horizontal pieces to the side rails, and you are ready to go. Note: I have started screws and will be ready to be assembled once delivered. Our planters are designed to help those of you that just don’t have much room for gardening. RopedOnCedar’s raised bed vertical gardening system is perfect for growing in small urban areas along with backyard patios and condo back-decks. We know that people do not always have a wall to place our original raised bed vertical gardening system against, so we have now included legs. This will allow you to put your vertical gardening raised planting system anywhere you would like. The first picture shows two of our raised bed gardening systems with a 24 inch @ 45 degrees next to a 16 inch @ 15 degrees angle. We started out with only the 45 degrees, but feedback from our customers found it taking up much room on people’s back porch or deck (extends out 36 inches at the base of the wall). It worked for most, but not for all. We then went the other way with the 15 degrees and found it to be “too upright” with the planters pretty much one right over the other. Nothing lost here…it got us thinking that it may not work for raised bed gardening, but what a great way to store items for a pantry or bathroom storage, along with making a high living wall!!! Three new products were created:) Let us know if you would prefer something other than our standard 32 degrees raised bed gardening system (extends 28 inches from the wall at the base) with your check out the note, i.e., living wall version (extends 19 inches from wall). You will be surprised at how going vertical with one of our raised bed vertical herb garden planter vegetable gardening systems will give you more growing area. Always best to seal the cedar planter box to ensure a longer “fresh” look to it. You can plant away just know that cedar like any-other wood will gray with time. A sealer will slow down if not stop that process altogether if done correctly and reapplied on a bi-annual basis. Boiled Linseed oil is a great natural way of protecting your planters and can be found at most lumber yards around 9 to 10 dollars a pint. Shipping; We cannot ship to APO/FPO boxes. This product will be shipped by UPS or FedEx Ground. Items must be sent to a physical address and cannot be sent to a PO box.
