3,50 EUR Two vintage postcards showing some conventional outfits of the Carnival in Perfume in Germany. The cards have to be from the fifties, are real photographs and were never sent out.
Carnival in Perfume is virtually as old as the history of the city itself. Because 1823 the & quot; & quot; Rote Funken & quot; have been taking part in the Carnival of Cologne and are hence an important part of it. Their uniforms represent the outfit of the city soldiers of Cologne two centuries ago. They were creative sufficient to avoid the only possible operation versus Napoleon’s soldiers by surrendering peacefully to the French Revolutionists. The explicit non-military impression of the & quot; & quot; Rote Funken & quot; hence has a historical background. The same impression goes for their rather unusual dance & quot; & quot; Stippeföttchen & quot;. Here the previous city soldiers of Perfume stand in couple with their buttocks rubbing against each other. This serves as an alternative to all the genuine belligerent armies worldwide, revealing them the best ways to spend their time more joyfully. See postcard 1.
Emphasize of this ritual dance is the dance of & quot; & quot; Funkenmariechen & quot;, little Mary as a dancing woman wearing the attire of a & quot; & quot; Marketenderin & quot; (Sutler) going back to that time. This Funkenmarie costume in red-white color combination includes a coat, a short skirt and a hat with marabou cutting in the style of a guard uniform. The specific thing about a & quot; & quot; Funkenmarie & quot; or, also called & quot; Tanzmarie & quot;& quot;, is her acrobatic dancing. See postcard 2.
