About A Girl: Ruthie Lindsey
Certain people come into our lives, and even in the fleeting moments that we spend with them, they affect us so profoundly that they leave a lasting mark on our hearts. Ruthie Lindsey is one of those people.
It seems like she knows everyone – which speaks to the person she is, so open and loving and warm that people are just drawn to her. When we arrived at her home in Nashville for our dinner party, her front door was open, and I get the sense that it often is. Open to friends, family, neighbors, guests from hear and far – she told us that at almost all times she has someone staying in her guest room, and I can understand why. She’s a blast to be around, one of those people that instantly puts you at ease, and when you set foot in her beauty and laughter-filled home, you never want to leave. But get to know Ruthie, and behind the pretty pictures, and you uncover a soul that has dealt with pain and sadness… but has chosen light and laughter instead. I told Ruthie before parting, that she radiates joy… and she teared up as she told me that someone once said to her, the more difficulties you’ve dealt with in life, the greater your ability to feel joy. I believe that that is true, and it makes me so happy to see this woman smile. Get to know Ruthie and take a peek inside her home below.
Music in the video is “I’ve Got You Covered” by the amazing Nashville band who played at our dinner party, Sugar and the Hi Lows!
