This is another lovely antique picot edge ombre ribbon from the early 1900s – being offered by the lawn – I am thinking 1920s but may be older. This type ribbon was popular for making the leaves in ribbonwork tasks and other accents. You can make several excludes of a lawn of ribbon – for the leaves I made right here I utilized only somewhat over 2 & quot; & quot; per leave. Ribbon measures approximately 1/4 & quot; & quot; not counting picots or 3/8 & quot; & quot; to outer edge or picots.
It is in lovely unused shape off the original card. I believe the ribbon to be a cotton/ rayon or silk blend – extremely soft in hand and pliable. Due to its age there may be slight age identifying, however I loosen up a reasonable quantity which was very extremely minimal.
I am showing an example of the this ribbon comprised into leaves for ribbonwork in the same method utilized in the early 1900s – you can get two various looking leaves with the opposite sides of the ribbon.
