Boho Wedding Inspiration
It’s been a little while since we’ve featured a wedding here on the blog. But the other day, I got an email from MacK Mars, who works part time as a stylist for Free People. The photos from her wedding day stopped me dead in my tracks – read on to hear her describe it in her own words, and to get a serious dose of wedding inspiration!
My husband and I got married this May… I had two dresses, one for the ceremony and one for the reception – both were Free People. I let my bridesmaids pick their dresses themselves, with the requirement that is was white, knee length and… made by Free people, because I felt that the Free People aesthetic would best represent my style on the big day (obviously).
My husband and I also own a design business, SoulMakes, handcrafting home decor and jewelry. So naturally, we were also decked out in beautiful SoulMakes jewels. Our wedding was 100% DIY, all the decor was handcrafted by me, the dream catchers, feather bunches etc, some of which can be found in our shop. We did everything by hand, from the making of the boutonnieres, to the floral arranging, to the hand-sewn curtains, and the food was cooked by my husbands family.
You may also recognize some design elements from the Free People Spring ’14 store display! I was inspired by the glass bottle display and began collecting bottles of my own to hand paint, as well as a boat load of mason jar mugs as gifts for our guests. I also “upcycled” the floral/pallet display from the store into a photo display with pictures of all our friends :).
