  • “Just got done making this. We also added a little spicy brown mustard as well. Very good!!! Will keep this recipe to use again. Thanks for a great potato salad!”

  • “I made this one today! I haven’t made this in years. When I first started out cooking I got the recipe from the back of the Hellmans Mayo jar. It is good! We ate it with Korean ribs and corn on the cobb. I didn’t add the onions. I knew my husband wouldn’t go for that. So I added a little sliced green onions and shredded baby carrots for some color. Next time, I will add more than two eggs.”

  • “This was amazing!I’ve made this once before and this is def. a keeper!I added in some sweet yellow and red peppers to mine as well.Absolutely divine!Thank you for this wonderful recipe :)”

  • “Very good potato salad…I had never tried this type and I must say it is much better than the recipe I have always used. Next time I will use 1/2 the vinegar because I used mustard as well. Thanks for posting.”

  • “I’ve been using this recipe for years now. It is one of the better potato salad recipes out there. Plain and simple and taste great.”

  • “I followed the recipe as is except I chopped 5 eggs into the salad, used less celery and chopped it fine, added 1 tsp. prepared mustard, and added about 3/4 teaspoon of poppy seeds (have been adding poppy seed to my potatoe salad for many years).I think the salt may be just a tad too much and will probably reduce that to 1 tsp next time.Overall, a yummy salad! Thanks for sharing!”

  • “very good!kitchenette basically made a new recipe, she added this and that! LOL”

  • “Excellent basic recipe.I added a teaspoon of spicy brown mustard, a dash of dill, and a smidgeon of cayenne. Also, reduced the vinegar, substituted plain yogurt for 1/3 of the mayo and used green onions, instead of regular. I didn’t include the eggs or sugar.”

  • “I really liked this PS recipe.Very simple, and for those (like my sister) who don’t like their potato salad with mustard.”

  • “Easy, quick and delicious. Will be making again and again.”

  • “This recipe was easy and delicious. It is a great recipe for anyone who is looking for a really good classic potato salad. The only thing I added to the recipe was approx a tablespoon of chopped capers (personal preference). I wouldn’t change a thing.”

  • “This is the exact same recipe that I use.Got it from a magazine ad for Hellmans, which I always use, but I use Hellman’s Light. This is such a nice creamy potato salad.I don’t like a lot of add ins in my salad and with just celery, onion and eggs this is perfect.I do add a bit more sugar, but that is just personal preference. You can’t go wrong with this recipe. So glad you posted it.”

  • “This was ok, but I probably won’t make it again.Even tried adding some mustard like another suggested. This potato salad just wasn’t our taste I guess. We will continue to try other potato salad recipes. That’s the fun of Zaar!”

  • “This will be my go-to potato salad recipe ! It went together painlessly, and got rave reviews from everyone at dinner last night. I made a couple of minor substitutions – used onion powder instead of chopped onion (DH doesn’t like texture) and added garlic powder and bacon. I couldn’t keep my fingers out of it while it was warm, and it only got better after it had been chilled in the fridge. Thanks for posting – this one’s definitely a keeper !!!”

  • “DH loved this potato salad! I did use Helmann’s mayo and new potatoes that I had on hand. The vinegar adds just a little bit of kick to the dressing mix. So easy to make and DH has asked me to make it again soon. Thank you Recipenut for posting!”

  • “Like one of the previous reviewers, I never make good potato salad.I promised one for a 4th of July bash tonight and was determined to find a recipe that would be yummy. This is DELICIOUS!I used white wine vinegar and Rapadura in place of white sugar.I actually ate a bowl before the salad had a chance to chill and mingle all the flavors and loved it.I’m looking forward to eating it chilled to see how it all blends together. An excellent recipe!”

  • “Very good base recipe.I did cook the onions (vadalia) and celery on low to medium heat for around 20 min.Added a Tbl. spoon or so of dijon and a dash of ground red pepper.Tons of compliments from the guests.I hope to be making lots more of this!!”

  • “Thank you for your recipe!”

  • “This was great!I did add just a tsp. of mustard, but that’s just a personal preference. The recipe was right on the money, and the dressing had just the right amount of “tang” because of the vinegar.Thank you for posting this!I taught my daughter how to make potato salad for the first time with this easy to follow recipe!:)”
