Crock Pot Chicken Curry
About This Recipe
“A wonderful dish served over rice. A salad of peanuts, coconut and banana goes well with this, or on the side as condiments.”

“This is a very tasty tomato based curry. The chicken dried out a bit but that is fairly comman in the crockpot and it was still good. I served over rice with broccoli.”
“Delicious!Made as directed except added carrots.Topped with a dab of plain greek yogurt, YUM.Cooked on high for 2 hours.”
“Really good!!! We ate this with Tobasco chipotle hot sauce. I added 2 green and 2 red bell peppers and left out the raisins.”
“This was so good and so easy. I made exactly as written and it was perfect spice for me. Not hot at all, but very flavorful. DH didn’t even add hot sauce for once. This is a keeper!”
“Really simple and tasty crock pot dish.I used breasts, 1 tin of chopped tomatoes + 1 tin of coconut milk. This was plenty of liquid to cook for 4.5 hours on high. The meat was tender and falling apart.I tasted it toward the end and decided to add a tablespoon of tikka masala spice.I forgot about the raisins but added these in about 1/2 hour before we ate it and that was okay.(I actually used sultanas and will probably add more than 1/2 cup next time.)I also thickened up the sauce with 2 tablespoons of corn flour and then served on jasmine rice with naan bread.I am so keeping this recipe! Thanks, Miss Annie.”
“Very tasty!”
“This was tasty.I like the idea of adding coconut milk/cream and would also add cilantro or additional spices if I tried it again.Thank you!”
“Crocked this for DH & DS and got a thumbs up from all.I changed a couple of things such as using red curry paste instead of the curry powder and added a can of lowfat coconut milk and was very India flavored.Next time I will add regular coconut cream and use cilantro.Served over brown rice, next time I will use a nice jasmine rice.THANK YOU MISS ANNIE!This one is a keeper!Sorry I forgot to snap a picture, will do so next time.”
“This is really simple and quite good. I would have given 5 stars but I’d like this dish to have more zip. It could be that my curry powder isn’t particularly special, but the dish didn’t have much spice and the curry flavor wasn’t very pronounced. I even used 1-2 Tablespoons additional curry because I cut up the chicken into 1.5 inch cubes and seasoned them with salt, fresh pepper and curry powder. Then I divided the butter and browned the chicken in 2 batches, putting them in the crock pot. Then I sauteed the onions and garlic for a few minutes before adding them to the pot. I cooked it for 4 hours on high so as not to dry out the chicken and it came out perfect. We ate it with jasmine rice and a fair amount of hot pepper sauce. I might have stirred in some plain yogurt if I’d had any on hand but I didn’t. I’d recommend topping it with some fresh cilantro, which I also didn’t have on hand. I think that would go a long way to add some missing flavor. Of course, that is a personal choice. My wife, who is 7 months pregnant, inhaled it! She actually told me, without kidding, that I am not allowed to have any leftovers. She told me to make it every day! Even my 22 month old son ate 2 portions of it, so in his case the level of heat was perfect. To sum up, this a great dish that you can modify to suit your individual tastes after it is cooked by adding what you like to your portion. We will definitely make this a lot and toy with it (because that’s the fun of cooking!)”
“I cook a crockpot meal for 3 friends and myself every Sunday night.None of us like raisins so I left those out.I served over 10 min., boil in bag rice.Everyone added a little Red Hot, hot sauce. However all 4 people gave this recipe 5 stars.Exellent!-DEATHGOMPER & Friends”
“Delish!I added some sweet potatoes…but that is all I changed.Yum. My 5 year old loves it.”
“This was wonderful. The only thing I changed was to cook it for less time in the crockpot so it would not get tough.I was short on time, so I cooked it on high for 2 hours after sauteeing the breasts in butter. That would equate to 4 hours on low.The chicken was flakey and tender. The sauce was fairly spicy … and delicious.”
