“For a down home Alabama flavor, try this recipe! It will remind you of Grandma’s old time cooking. It’s sure to please!!!!”

    Ingredients

  • 1headcabbage

  • 2 -4tablespoonscajun seasoning
  • Directions

  • Note: It may seem like a lot of seasoning for Cajun seasoning but it’s not a salty or spicy seasoning. It is a blend of many types of seasoning. It tastes good by itself with any type of meat!
  • Slice cabbage into desired size pieces.
  • Fry cabbage in bacon grease until softened.
  • Add chicken soup and Cajun seasoning.
  • Cook until of desired consistency.
  • Note: Really good when served with sticky rice.

  • “Lynda, if I could give you a 10 star I would! This was not only easy to make but the best cabbage I have ever made.DH and I were licking our lips while eating 🙂 Good southern dish that I will be making alot from now on.Thanks for a delicious recipe. BTW, I followed the recipe exactly as you have it.”

  • “Very good.I used Cream of Chicken soup rather than just the regular chicken soup.Since the recipe called for bacon drippings, I figured why not crush up some of the bacon and add it to cabbage. It was fantastic. Thanks!”

  • “Delicious. A wonderful way to cook cabbage! I sliced my cabbage thin and used bacon grease, one can of plain Campbell’s chicken broth undiluted, and 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning. Served with my pork chops recipe #113037, creamy mashed potatoes, and corn on the cob #147254. Great dinner. Thanks for posting. “

  • “Sorry, I wasn’t impressed by this very much. I tried to make it exactly as written. I used about 4 T. of bacon grease, a can of Campbell’s chicken noodle soup, and about 3.5 T. of cajun seasoning. I tend to like highly seasoned food, but being on the high end of the “2-4 tablespoons” was way too much, plus way too salty. So it sort of ruined the dish. On a lesser note, I chopped the cabbage too large. So this may have potential with a lot less cajun seasoning, and smaller-chopped cabbage. But as is, I was fairly disappointed.”

  • “I have never been able to eat cabbage. But this recipe cured that.My family loves it.”

  • “This was very good. I used Cajun Seasoning Recipe #28100. It worked well. Thank you lynda clark for spicing up my regular fried cabbage.”

  • “Delicious way to enjoy cabbage.I just used cooking spray in the skillet to fry the cabbage. The broth and seasonings were quite enough to flavor the dish and we didn’t miss the fat.”
