    Ingredients

  • 1cupcorn oil
  • 1cupketchup
  • 1/2 cupsugar
  • 1/4 cupwhite vinegar
  • 1/4 cupwater
  • 1teaspoongarlic salt
  • 1teaspoonblack pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoonsalt
  • Directions

  • Put all ingredients in blender or food processor; blend until well mixed.

  • “This dressing was good and easy, ( followed it as written) but a little too sweet and thick for me,(maybe I blended it too long?)If I make it again, I wouldadd less sugar, and more water. I did add a little more vinegar to it, after tasting it, but still thought it too sweet,and was leary of adding any more vinegar. Anyway, it’s worth tinkering with.”

I might have to do a little tinkering to make it a bit healthier, but this cuts out at least half of the chemicals in the bottled stuff so for now I’m happy. I had to whisk by hand since my blender died, and it worked fine (but might have been a tad harder).”

After reading some of the reviews I only used a bit less than 1/8c of sugar (remember I halved the recipe so for the whole amount it would be just under 1/4c) Also, I did not have the correct oil so I used olive oil, as that is all I have. Very good though, tangy. Thanks for saving me a trip to the store !!!”

  • “This dressing is great! My son’s favorite dressing is Catalina and I found this to be more like that than French dressing. (When I think of French dressing, I think of the thick, orange stuff.) my son loves this. This recipe does make a real lot, so I just made halfthe recipe, combined the ingredients in a cruet, and shook till blended. I also used this in *OzMan*’s Taco salad. Yum. I’ll never buy bottled dressing again.”
