Festival Pre-Party Recap at Free People Southport
Festival Pre-Party Recap at Free People Southport
One of the things I love about traveling to different cities and covering music festivals is the opportunity that comes with it to take part in some of our store events.
While in Chicago, we made our way to Free People Southport on Thursday night to attend a fun festival pre-party they hosted to kick off the start of Pitchfork Music Festival. We landed in Chicago earlier that day, and the event was first up on our agenda. All of our stores have a little something special about them, but this store is unique in that it has a backyard area that can fit a good amount of people. Not only is this space great for events, but it was also perfect to host a backyard session! When I heard that one of the store stylists at FP Southport, Ashlee, was in a band, I immediately reached out to see if she wanted to play for us that night. So many of our store girls are extremely talented, and it’s inspiring when we get to see them do what they love. We were in for a treat because both of the bands that Ashlee is in were able to come out and perform for us. The Island of Misfit Toys started out the night with a fun and energetic set, then Ashlee’s other project, Lucid Lives, finished up with soft acoustic sounds. The evening was filled with great music, healthy snacks provided by KIND, and good times. It was awesome to be a part of it, and a big thanks to Free People Southport for hosting a great event! Check out a photo recap below, and look out for a special video of the night on the blog soon!
