French 19th Century Vesta Match Safe Antique Silver Plated Crown Fleur de Lys by LaComtesseDeTalaru

125,00 USD Stunning and striking match safe, or vesta, from France dating to the 19th century. This piece is silver plated with a snap close cover and hanging ring to the side. The lid operates as it should, and stays closed. There is a spring mechanism inside that helps the closing. The cover sits flush all around except for a little section on the side opposite the hanging ring, where there is a fingernail width ‘lift’ on the corner.

Stunning design including a royal crown and fleur de lys, and the initial striking mechanism is well specified on the bottom.

There is some wear to the plating, however absolutely nothing that avoids this piece resembling a nice antique silver product. There is a really faint initials carved into one side – it is barely noticeable in the pictures and to the naked eye. Appears to be the letters WC – if you did not desire the letters they shoudl polish away fairly easily
