  • “I made this recipe for a Holiday Breakfast for the office. It was a major hit!I even was able to make the batter the night before, so I was ready to go the next morning.”

  • “what wonderful waffles!we all love gingerbread and this tasted just the same.we put the bananas and whipped cream on it, then decided we needed a little maple syrup, too.we enjoyed them on a relaxing morning before christmas.”

  • “These were very good!I think they seemed a little dry so we added more butter on top and that helped.Next time I think I’ll use a little more butter in the mix.Overall they were a hit with my husband and my one year old too!”

  • “Great recipe.I’ve tried quite a few but this is by far the best so far.Five star batter. It is moist and silky smooth almost like cake frosting. It handles and spreads so easily on the hot iron.Taste is definitely 5 stars.Hope you enjoy it as much as my family did. There were none left. Thanks Divinemom5, I’ll look for more of your recipies.”

  • “These are an absolute MUST TRY!They are sooooo good! We’ve never actually made it to the point of putting anything on them….I’ve made them three times now and each time, the kids and I eat them before they even get to a plate! Thanks for broadening my waffle horizons!”

  • “These were wonderful.I had gingerbread pancakes at my sister’s house a few years back, and knew I wanted the same at mine.Only, I prefer waffles to pancakes anyday, so this was perfect!Made for Christmas morning.Great recipe… :)”

  • “I have never had gingerbreak waffles before, but my kids thought that would be a yummy winter breakfast. We all really liked the taste. We topped ours with cinnamon syrup and whipped cream. It was good, but very rich.”

  • “Great recipe…loved the taste. We had with Maple Syrup. The only problem I encountered was they didn’t crisp up like our usual waffle recipes.Thoughts?”

  • “Definitely 5 stars. These were delicious!I plan to freeze the leftovers. Yum!”

  • “We just finished eating these up for Christmas morning breakfast and they were a big hit.I used applesauce instead of the margarine to cut out the extra fat and no one noticed at all.Served hot with Cool Whip Free, hot applesauce and real maple syrup.Delicious!”

  • “My family enjoyed these waffles. They were easy to make too. Thanks for the recipe”

  • “Yum! My husband has made these several times and now I get a craving for them. Topping with applesauce as suggested by other reviewers adds a nice touch.”

  • “These were really great. I thought they had the perfect amount of sweetness (they were a little too sweet with maple syrup, but I’ll just use apple sauce next time as a topping). Happily, I got four waffles out of this. Thanks for sharing!”

  • “What a delicious treat for a cold winter morning! The only sub I made was the old trick of combining milk and lemon juice for the buttermilk.I did add 1/4 t nutmeg and a sprinkle of cloves too. These are just absolutely wonderful.I had mine with applesauce and my hubby had syrup on his.I will definitely make these again!”

  • “My substitutions (RiceDream ‘milk’ for buttermilk & golden syrup for molasses) must’ve put me off on the wrong foot. I had massive batter-overflow problems on the waffle iron (oh yeah, this was a FUN morning!) — just couldn’t get the quanities right — and then the waffles ended up quite moist, more like pancakes…. But once I tasted these with Creme Fraiche & syrup, I forgave myself for the substitutions! These were tastey!”

  • “These were fantastic. I think I know why the last person thought they had a funny taste. I never cook or bake with molasses. I had a very unpleasant experience with it. I always use dark corn syrup to substitute for it and find it has a better taste. I did this with your waffles recipe as well and it was perfect. I will be making these again, probably xmas eve. Thank you for posting!”

  • “My family and I all really like gingerbread, however we did not care for these waffles at all. They had a weird taste. We threw them out for the birds.Sorry, I couldn’t rate these higher.”

  • “Excellent recipe! The owner’s manual for my waffle maker has a recipe for gingerbread waffles, but I couldn’t find it this morning, so I looked online instead.I’m glad I did! I mixed just a touch of maple syrup into plain yogurt and used it as a dip.It was really delicious.”

  • “This ia well written recipe that is easy to follow and quick to prepare. The result is a very flavorful waffle.I liked them best with butter melted on them. They tasted like gingerbread right out of the oven.I didn’t care for regular maple syrup on them. But I think they would make good dessert waffles perhaps with peaches and cream on top. Be careful not to over cook.Thank you for sharing your delicious recipe Divinemom5!”

  • “This is a Sunday morning favorite–we like them sprinkled with powdered sugar. Thanks for the great recipe!”
