This is Multipurpose Gnome: he can be a tea cosy for a medium to big teapot (the gnome who snuck inside for his tea break), OR you can make him as a soft toy 38 cm tall (mine likes indoor pot plants, having his really own watering can).
Pattern has instructions for a spade, mug of tea, flower in a pot and a watering can – utilize whatever combination fits you.
Knit him as a present for a good friend who loves gnomes, or let him live at your place.
