“I had to make a couple of substitutions in this recipe, and was hesitant about rating it.However, it was so good, that I decided to rate it with my changes.Since I decided to make this on the spur of the moment and I had no apricot jam, I used orange marmalade.I also had to substitute turbinado sugar for the brown sugar that I was out of also.Remaining glaze ingredients were as listed and I brushed this on a bone in shank portion ham that I had bought.The glaze was delicious with just a hint of sweetness.When I cook a ham again, I’m going to make sure I have some apricot jam.Can’t wait to compare the tastes!Thanks for sharing the recipe.”
“This is the best ham that I’ve eaten in a long time.Fabulous flavor combination.Perfect balance of sweet and savory…nothing overpowered anything else.I had a quarter of a fully-cooked ham and I sliced it, put it into a shallow baking dish, spread the glaze on and baked it for 30 minutes.Deeee-licious!Thanx for this recipe; its a keeper.I’ll make it again.”
