  • “This is great…add corn and its just like my mom used to make, and come on people who cares what “true” goulash is…my mom called it the same thing and i wouldnt have found the recipe without calling it that…memories of mom and good food!”

  • “This is the same recipe, that my mother used. I knew that her goulash was simple and that I used to just love it. When I found this recipe, I went out and bought all the ingedients and made it today. This is the simplest and most tasty goulash in the world. I did’t vary the ingedients at all. Anyone who makes this, will love it and share it with friends.Thank-you for posting it. You brought back fond memories.”

  • “This IS the stuff I grew up with…I don’t care if you call it Goulash or Mongolian Maccaroni…But if you didn’t call it Goulash, I wouldn’t have found the recipe…I cooked up a 12 oz. box of elbow maccaroni…I used 3 15 oz. cans of tomatoes and 1 15 oz. can of tomato sauce and about 4 cloves of crushed garlic…A bunch of garlic bread and it was comfort food for me…Thanks for the recipe…”

  • “I have been searching for a recipe like my mom’s Goulash for forever, it seems, and the ones I find are always too thick.I don’t even have to make this to know yours is the one I have been searching for!THANKS!!!!”

  • “I’m looking forward to making this tonight, this is finally the recipe I was looking for when I went in search of a goulash as I understand it. This is what my family called goulash, I am surprised by how many different versions of “goulash” there are and how incredibly different they are! Very interesting, but THIS is exactly what I’m craving and thank you for sharing:)”

  • “Made it for Halloween night, and it was good, husband liked it. I made it with egg noodles, and left out the onion. Good but it lacked something. We topped it with shredded cheese and sour cream, which added alot of flavor.”

  • “I also grew up eating a version of this.Very good.Next time I will add corn and some other veggies.I made 1 1/2 times the recipie and used 2 cans of 14.5oz stew tomoatoes and 1 14.5oz can of diced tomatoes.I used 40oz of tomatoe sauce. Very good!”

  • “This is just like MY Mom use to make when I was a kid..!! It’s so easy and fast…added alittle more garlic powder and 3 pepper spices and used my left over sauce from sunday’s pasta dinner.. I serve it with Italian bread and butter…yummmy”

  • “This was so fast, easy and tasty – thanks! I added a few things just to experiment and was happy how it turned out (1 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp Italian seasoning, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1 can kidney beans and 1-2 c frozen corn). I like someone else’s idea of baking leftovers with cheese for the following night, so will try that tomorrow. Thank you for the recipe.”

  • “This is exactly like my mom’s, except she added a can of kidney beans (probably to try to get us to eat them!).She was from Michigan and called it Goulash as you do.I now live in Northern New England, and up there is it called American Chop Suey!I thought that was so odd when I first moved up there. It’s on the kids’ school lunch menu every week.”

  • “Just like my mom used to make!Wonderful memories! Thank you so much!”

  • “I never knew there was any other way to make Goulash until I went looking for the recipe!! Thank you for posting this!!”

  • “Back during WWII I lived with my grandmother, and when rationing permitted, she got hamburger and made this dish, which she called goulash. This one brought back a flood of memories.”

  • “Just like my Mom used to make.I used smoked paprika too-adds a little something different to it.”

  • “This is exactly the recipe I was looking for.I grew up with this wonderful dish and it was a family favorite. My Dad used it for a dish the Boy Scouts cooked on their overnight campouts. He added 1 can of corn to the ingredients and the boys loved it.He was associated with Scouts for over 75 years.Dad was my pride and joy.I wish I could have been a boy so I could have been in his troop.goddess_stina2000”

  • “my husband loves this and its easy to make, thanks for posting!”

  • “Oh this was yumyumYUMMY!! I added a bit of garlic salt and a small can of mushrooms. Only used 16 oz of tomato sauce and 2 cans of diced tomatoes. It made a lot so I think tomorrow night, I’ll take the leftovers, mix some grated cheese in it, throw it in a casserole dish and bake it til the cheese is melted. YUM! I don’t know if this is truely goulash or not but it’s what I’ve always thought goulash was. 🙂 Thanks for the recipe! The whole family loooved it.”

  • “Goulash should have paprika and stewing beef”

  • “This is a wonderful Goulash recipe! It was SO easy and SO good! Like the other reviewer said, it heats up nicely. I used 2 cans of diced tomatoes and 2 cans of tomato sauce. It’s also easy to modify (my husband likes more macaroni, I like less). Thank you!”

  • “We love this recipe! It is just the two of us and this recipe is wonderful because it heats up really well for leftovers!!!Thanks a lot!”
